Walking to Nelson Mandela Square takes maybe five minutes, and honestly, having Sandton City shopping center right there is dangerous for your wallet but incredibly convenient. The apartment itself feels more spacious than you’d expect – those two bedrooms aren’t cramped afterthoughts, they’re actually livable spaces where you can spread out your stuff without feeling like you’re playing Tetris with your luggage. What I appreciated most was how the kitchen was actually equipped for real cooking, not just the token mini-fridge and microwave situation you get in so many places.

The building has that solid, well-maintained feel that you don’t always find in apartment-style accommodations. Security is tight (which matters a lot in this part of the world), and the staff actually remembers your name after a day or two. Parking was straightforward – no circling the block hoping for a miracle. The whole Waldorf area has this buzzy energy during the day with business types grabbing coffee, but it settles down nicely in the evenings. Sure, you’ll hear some street noise if you’re a super light sleeper, but nothing that decent curtains and maybe some white noise can’t handle. I stayed here during a particularly busy conference season, and while the area was bustling, the apartment felt like a proper retreat from all that corporate chaos. The 7.4 rating makes sense to me – it’s not trying to be flashy or over-the-top luxurious, but it delivers exactly what you need with some nice touches that show someone actually thought about how real people live and travel.

  Excellent host, who actually changed our accommodation to one at Topaz in Sandton( so I didn't stay at the one in the picture) , because there was a water issue in the area
