I was expecting traffic noise all night, but the soundproofing is actually pretty decent. The design has this modern urban vibe that works well with the historic building – exposed brick here and there, clean lines, that sort of contemporary African aesthetic that doesn’t try too hard.

What I really appreciated was how they’ve thought about the practical stuff that matters when you’re staying in the CBD. The building entry feels secure (which, let’s face it, matters in this part of town), and the staff genuinely knows the neighborhood. They’ll tell you which streets to take when walking to Newtown at night, or point you toward the good coffee spots on Commissioner Street that tourists usually miss. The check-in was smooth, none of that awkward waiting around while they figure out their system. And honestly, for the price point, the amenities punch above their weight – the Wi-Fi actually works consistently, the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a helicopter, and the bathrooms have proper water pressure. Small things, but they add up when you’re trying to get ready for meetings or just want a decent shower after walking around the city all day. The location puts you right in the thick of things without feeling touristy – you’re close enough to walk to the Carlton Centre or catch a show at the Market Theatre, but you’re also in the real working heart of the city where actual Joburgers do their thing.

  The access to the room is nice and easy. It's in a quiet and safe area with shops within a walking distance from the building. The place was clean and equipped with everything we needed during our stay there(from cutlery to enough blankets). There was even enough electricity to cover the amount of days we booked for. All I can say is that the place exceeded our expectations.
  
  What could be improved: I would advise the host to purchase good quality pots. The paint inside the ones we found was peeling and ended up in the food after cooking.

  I had a wonderful stay at this property in Johannesburg. The host and co-hosts were incredibly kind, professional, and always willing to assist whenever needed. We saw other apartments in the property, but this unit was truly exceptional. If I get the chance, I would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!
  
  What could be improved: One area for improvement would be having an alternate water source in case of an outage. That aside, everything was great, and I highly recommend this place!
