Amazing stay homes Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Amazing stay homes on Mabel Street, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. The name is pretty straightforward, maybe even a bit generic, but you know what? Sometimes the places with simple names end up surprising you the most. This three-star spot sits in a residential area that feels refreshingly removed from the typical hotel district chaos, and after spending a few nights there, I actually think that’s its biggest strength.
The thing about staying in this part of Johannesburg is that you get a real sense of how locals actually live – there’s a corner café about two blocks down where the coffee is honestly better than what you’ll find in most hotel lobbies, and the whole neighborhood has this lived-in feel that I really appreciated. The property itself is more like a collection of well-maintained units than a traditional hotel, which explains the “homes” part of the name. My room had this slightly quirky layout (the bathroom was surprisingly spacious, but the closet was basically a glorified wardrobe), and while it wasn’t luxury by any means, everything worked properly and felt clean. The Wi-Fi was actually solid, which matters more than people admit when you’re trying to stay connected.
What I really liked was how quiet it gets at night – you’re far enough from the main roads that you don’t get that constant traffic hum, but close enough that getting an Uber or taxi isn’t a hassle. The staff were genuinely helpful without being overly formal about it, and when I had questions about getting around the city, they gave me the kind of practical advice you’d get from a local friend rather than tourist brochure recommendations. The parking situation is pretty straightforward too, which anyone who’s driven in Joburg will tell you is not something to take for granted. I mean, it’s not going to blow you away with fancy amenities or Instagram-worthy common areas, but for a solid base while you’re exploring the city – especially if you want to experience Johannesburg beyond the typical tourist bubble – it does the job really well. The 7.6 rating it has seems about right to me; it’s the kind of place that delivers on what it promises without trying to be something it’s not.

My husband and I had the most pleasurable stay . It was our first time staying in SA for more than a week and I would say it surely was an exceptional experience. Our host made sure we had all that we needed and he was indeed super friendly and very helpful. The house was absolutely spotless and comfortable and the location was perfect for everything I needed . Everything exceeded my expectations. I will definitely recommend this apartment.
