So I ended up staying at this Apartment in Sandton on Lower Road, and honestly? It completely changed my perspective on what a four-star apartment stay should feel like. I mean, I’ve done the hotel circuit in Johannesburg plenty of times, but there’s something refreshing about having an actual space that feels like yours for a few days.

The location is what really got me – you’re right in the heart of Sandton’s business district, but tucked away enough that you’re not dealing with the constant hum of traffic that you get closer to Sandton City. The building itself has this modern glass facade that catches the morning light beautifully, and when you step into unit 304a, you immediately notice how much thought went into the layout. The kitchen actually has counter space (revolutionary, I know), and the living area flows naturally without feeling cramped. What surprised me was the attention to detail – proper blackout curtains that actually block out the streetlights, decent water pressure in the shower, and WiFi that doesn’t cut out every twenty minutes like so many places do.

You know what really sold me though? The view from the main bedroom window gives you this slice of Sandton’s skyline without the overwhelming glass-and-steel assault you get from some of the higher floors in the area. Mornings here are genuinely peaceful – you can hear the city waking up without feeling like you’re in the middle of a construction site. The building’s security is solid too, which matters when you’re coming and going at odd hours. Parking was straightforward, none of that circling-the-block nonsense. And honestly, being walking distance from Nelson Mandela Square means you can grab dinner without the whole Uber dance, which is such a relief after a long day. The 9.2 rating makes total sense when you experience it – it’s not trying to be fancy for fancy’s sake, it just gets the fundamentals right in a way that makes your stay genuinely comfortable rather than just Instagram-worthy.

  Excellent safe location, less than 2km Close to Sandton City Mall. Beds were comfy, Kitchen fully equipped and the large living area and balcony provided ample space for the kids. We had a few minor challenges but the host, Loyiso is easily available via whatsapp and phone call and resolved these issues very quickly.
