But this little four-star gem completely won me over from the moment I stepped through the front door. There’s something genuinely warm about the place that you don’t get at those massive chain hotels scattered around Johannesburg. The owners have this knack for making you feel like you’re staying at a friend’s beautifully appointed home rather than just another booking number.

What really struck me was how they’ve managed to blend that cottage charm with proper luxury touches. The rooms have these gorgeous hardwood floors that creak just slightly when you walk – normally that might annoy me, but here it adds to the character. You know what I loved most though? The breakfast setup in their little garden courtyard. I’d sit out there with my coffee in the morning, listening to the birds and watching the staff tend to these incredible flower beds. It’s this kind of peaceful bubble you rarely find in the city, especially in this part of Joburg where everything usually moves at breakneck speed. The Wi-Fi actually works well too (learned that lesson the hard way at other boutique places), which matters when you’re trying to plan your day or catch up on work.

The location on Meadow Lane is actually perfect if you know the area – you’re tucked away from the main road noise but still close enough to everything that matters. I could walk to some fantastic local restaurants that most tourists never discover, and the staff was brilliant at suggesting spots that weren’t just the obvious tourist traps. Parking was never an issue, which honestly is half the battle in Johannesburg. The place runs like clockwork too – check-in was smooth, housekeeping was thorough without being intrusive, and they remembered my name after the first day, which sounds small but makes such a difference. I can see why they’ve earned such stellar reviews; it’s the kind of place where the 9.8 rating actually makes sense when you experience it yourself. If you’re looking for somewhere that feels special without trying too hard, this is your spot.

  I had an amazing weekend, peaceful very private and enjoyed the outdoor set up. The host and her children were very helpful and accomodative. I really loved being there. I am terrified of dogs but their dog is so friendly, there is a private entrance and self check in options, i loved that very helpful for shy people like myself. The outdoor area has so many options to relax and sit, very nice i would highly recommend to anyone. may this business grow even more and more, loved being there and coming back again soon ❤️
  
  What could be improved: Its not really what i didn't like but more like a suggestion, some essential like dish soap, oil and kitchen cloth were not available, it would be a perfect touch to the cottage otherwise everything else was perfect.
