I honestly expected some cookie-cutter serviced apartment situation, but this place on Katherine Street actually delivers something pretty special. The whole concept is clever – you’re getting this stylish apartment setup within what’s essentially a four-star hotel environment, so you have your own space but can tap into all those hotel perks when you want them.

The location in Sandton is honestly perfect if you’re doing business in Johannesburg – I mean, you’re right in the financial district, but it doesn’t feel stuffy or overly corporate. The apartment itself has this modern, minimalist vibe that actually works (unlike some places that try too hard to be trendy). What I really appreciated was the kitchen setup – not just a kitchenette with a sad little fridge, but an actual functional space where you could cook a proper meal if you wanted to skip the restaurants for a night. The living area flows nicely, and honestly, after spending days in meetings around Sandton City, it felt good to have somewhere that didn’t feel like just another hotel room.

Here’s what sold me though – the service quality is genuinely impressive without being over the top. Check-in was smooth, parking was sorted without drama (which, if you know Johannesburg traffic, you’ll appreciate), and when I had a minor issue with the Wi-Fi, they actually fixed it quickly instead of just promising to “look into it.” The whole building has this quiet, professional atmosphere, but it’s not sterile. You’re close enough to walk to some decent restaurants and that whole Sandton entertainment area, but far enough from the main Nelson Mandela Square chaos that you can actually get some sleep. I’d definitely stay here again, especially for longer trips where you want that apartment feel but with backup support when you need it.

  Location was really accessible to our needs.
  
  What could be improved: Check in process was not ideal, very choppy and not well received. Host did not communicate well. Didn't feel acknowledged with my requests or even provided with solutions to our inquiries. It felt like every issue raised was my fault, ie; check in time was supposed to be communicated 5 minutes prior to arrival, however, after 26 hours of travel and not having access to data to make this said call did not seem to be acknowledged by host, instead blamed us. Pretty bad start to a foreign country.
  
  Use of hotel amenities not well aligned with provisions in the room.
  
  We were not allowed to use hotel towels to use gym and pool which meant having to use the only set we had for all our needs. Extra towels in the room to accommodate would have been appreciated.
  
  Safe was not working, again, host did not seem to care enough to try and get it fixed, telling us it was safe to leave our stuff unsecured, again, pretty poor response and action to a simple fix request.
  
  Lights in the room either not working or have a random blue tone which was a bit disorienting. Bedroom Door was not latchable and kept annoyingly closing on you, had to use out shoes to prop it open.

  What could be improved: L’hôte n’est pas du tout arrangeant. J’ai envoyé un message qui a été purement et simplement ignoré.
  Une fois la réservation faite, il semble que rien n’importe plus pour l’hôte.

  Location is very convenient. The 24/hr hotel amenities, Uber eats and MrD are readily available when needed – but obviously not included in the price. The price is simply for the apartment and its amenities. Easy to get to the apartment and is comfortable and safe for a single traveler. Clean room and sheets. You get privacy and are left alone unless you go out. Sound proofing of the walls is great I often forgot that there were other tenants around. Bed was super comfy! I Definitely will be visiting again! Felt like a home away from home. The view is to die for at night. Love the city life!
  
  What could be improved: Not enough cutlery in the room. Small cosmetic damage on the bedroom cupboard and wall that needs fixing. I have allergies so the reed diffusers next to the bed caused an allergic reaction for me, but I felt better once the sheets were changed and the diffuser was removed. Its just those small issues that needed fixing that could’ve made it a perfect stay. Perhaps some complimentary milk, rusks etc would’ve been a good touch since it’s a self catering apartment. I stayed for a week and the price for food was definitely steep. But I will be back in future.

  Luxurious apartment on the ninth floor of the Capital Hotel with great views. The kitchen is well equipped with fridge, washing machine, dryer. It was pleasantly quiet and we slept well on very good beds.
  
  What could be improved: Unfortunately, I can't understand the reviews so far, because there are no comments.
  After initial good communication with the provider, we were able to move into the apartment at 12 o'clock.
  Then things got complicated. It was not possible to get a second key card within 24 hours, so we gave up on it. When asked again for two wine glasses, we were advised to get them ourselves through the House Keeper. Until then, the equipment with glasses consisted of 3 glasses. There was also no corkscrew.
  The electronics of the room safe were defective. When the batteries were inserted, the safe constantly made strange noises.
  The use was only possible with a master key, which was provided next to the safe.
  The cleanliness was rather superficial. Especially the area above the stove on the wall was unappetizing. Leftovers from the preparation of the food were clearly visible.
