What really won me over was how this four-star place nails the practical stuff that business hotels often mess up. The balcony isn’t huge, but it catches the morning light perfectly – I found myself having coffee out there every day, watching the city wake up below. And that washing machine? Game changer if you’re doing any kind of extended stay or if you’re like me and tend to pack light then regret it later. The WiFi actually lives up to the “fast” promise, which you can’t always count on even in nicer places. I was able to jump on video calls without that anxiety about whether the connection would hold.

The apartment itself feels more like someone’s well-maintained city flat than a sterile hotel room. There’s actual kitchen space if you want to grab groceries from the market down the street (though the local restaurant scene is worth exploring). It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in the city, but it absolutely nails being a comfortable, genuine base for exploring what Johannesburg is really about.
