When I first walked up to Colosseum Apartments on Kruis Street, I’ll be honest — the name had me expecting something a bit more grandiose. But you know what? Sometimes the best places are the ones that don’t try too hard to impress you from the street. This four-star property sits quietly in Johannesburg‘s city center, and there’s something refreshingly unpretentious about it. The building itself has that solid, no-nonsense feel that makes you think they’ve put their money into the right places.

Here’s where things get interesting — these aren’t your typical hotel room. Each apartment actually feels like a proper living space, which is exactly what you want when you’re staying somewhere for more than just a night or two. The kitchen setup is genuinely useful (I mean, you can actually cook a real meal, not just heat up instant noodles), and the living areas have enough space that you’re not tripping over your luggage every five minutes. I particularly appreciated how they’ve managed to make everything feel homey without going overboard on the “home away from home” theme that some places push too hard.

Kruis Street puts you right in the thick of things, but in a good way. You’re close enough to the business district that you can walk to meetings, and honestly, being in the city center means you’re never far from decent coffee or a proper meal. The parking situation is actually sorted — they have private spots on site, which anyone who’s driven in Joburg will tell you is worth its weight in gold. No circling the block or paying ridiculous daily rates at some sketchy lot down the street.

There’s definitely something about this place that works particularly well for couples.   The apartment is spacious, also the WiFi was working properly and it's cozy and the host was very helpful. Over all it was a nice stay
  
  What could be improved: I don't like the fact that the pan and the baking pan were dirty also I found a plate inside the microwave with pizza and the was a broken flute glass in the cabinet. I didn't like that you only had one dish cloth try to also put cleaning utensils.

  It is close to wanderers taxi rank/parkstation… it had everything I needed for the night… The host was very friendly, communicative and accommodated me with late check in, very much appreciated … I was impressed by their check in system, very clever…I would definitely book again if I need accommodation around Braam
  
  What could be improved: The only thing I did not like was that there was a dustbin under the sink that was full, I think from the previous guests garbage… I would also like to recommend a stain remover for their linen (Dr Beckmann from checkers)… otherwise I loved the place 🖤

  I loved the fact that the place was spacious and had fresh smell each and every day …. The TV that also made it fun to watch movies on as it was a bit similar to the big screen.And ofcause as a black person there's nothing more we love then free things a specially wifi. I was a able to do all my work effectively. The property also provided the exact promised room and that was a win .
  
  What could be improved: What I didn't like was that there was no iron nor a bin to throw our trash .There was also no soap provided to wash I had to buy my own.
