Look, I’ll be honest with you – when I first pulled up to Comfort Apartment SA on Grayston Drive, I wasn’t expecting much from a three-star place. But you know what? Sometimes these unassuming spots in Sandton really surprise you, and this one definitely grew on me during my stay.

The thing about this place is that it’s properly situated if you need to be in Sandton’s business district – I mean, you’re basically in the thick of things without the crazy price tag of those flashy hotels closer to Sandton City. The apartments (and they really are apartments, not just hotel rooms with a kitchenette thrown in) have this lived-in feel that’s actually quite refreshing. My unit had a decent-sized lounge area where I could actually spread out my work stuff, and the kitchen was functional enough that I made proper coffee in the mornings instead of relying on those terrible hotel sachets. The Wi-Fi held up well too, which honestly saved my sanity during a few late-night video calls back home.

What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets in the evenings – Grayston Drive can be busy during rush hour, but once things settle down, you’re not dealing with the constant hum you get at some of the places closer to the M1. The staff genuinely seemed to remember my name after the second day, which is rare these days. And here’s something practical that nobody tells you about staying in Sandton – parking can be a nightmare elsewhere, but this place has secure parking that actually feels secure. I walked to a few meetings in the nearby office towers, and when I needed to venture further out (like that excellent Ethiopian place in Rosebank), the Gautrain station is close enough that you don’t need to stress about Joburg traffic. The apartments themselves are clean and well-maintained, though I’ll admit the décor won’t win any design awards – but honestly, who cares when you’ve got space to breathe and everything works properly? For what you pay, especially if you’re staying more than a few nights, it’s solid value in an area where accommodation costs can quickly get out of hand.

  Spacious Apartments with nice balcony. Great as a office away from home and if you don't mind cooking or ordering in, it is a great place to stay-in for the day if you need to.
  
  What could be improved: The security process is a bit overkill, so if you expecting to see guests at the premises it can be challenging. Getting a hold of the cell numbers provided was also an issue, one of the numbers posted is a digit short and does not work at all. Some of the fixers were.damaged and just left that way. The aircon in the spare room is a portable unit that works but the exhaust pipe also exhausts into the room so it is basically unusable.

  Location was fantastic, comfy beds and clean towels. Stephane is also a wonderful host, very accommodating and welcoming. I would definitely book this place again when I'm in the area. I also like the fact that we were allocated undercover parking and there was someone to assist with luggage.
