I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Grace on Argyle, Executive Suite in Sandton, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from this tucked-away spot on Argyle Avenue. But you know what? Sometimes the best finds are the ones that don’t scream for attention from the main drag. This four-star property sits in Craighall, which is actually one of those neighborhoods that feels more residential than touristy – and I mean that in the best possible way.

The executive suite setup here is honestly pretty impressive. I’m talking about proper space to spread out, not those cramped hotel rooms where you’re bumping into furniture every time you turn around. The living area flows naturally into the bedroom, and there’s this sense of being in an upscale apartment rather than just another hotel room. What really got me though was the attention to detail – the kind of stuff you notice after you’ve been traveling for a while and stayed in way too many places that cut corners. The bathroom amenities were actually good (not those tiny bottles that run out after one use), and the bed was firm enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d been sleeping on a marshmallow.

Location-wise, you’re perfectly positioned between the energy of Sandton’s business district and the more laid-back vibe of the northern suburbs. Craighall itself has this tree-lined, almost village-like feel that makes you forget you’re in Johannesburg for a minute. I found myself walking around the neighborhood in the evenings – it’s safe enough and there’s something nice about the mix of old houses and newer developments. The drive to Sandton City or the business district takes maybe ten minutes without traffic, fifteen if you hit it during rush hour. Parking at the hotel is straightforward too, which honestly can’t be said for everywhere in this part of the city. The staff seemed to actually know the area well – not just the tourist spots, but where to grab decent coffee in the morning or which routes to avoid during peak hours. That 9.4 rating makes sense once you’ve been there a few days and realized how many little things they get right.

  Rosie is a welcoming, friendly host that immediately make you feel at home. The very spacious rooms are beautifully decorated. The attention to finer detail makes everything just so much more enjoyable such as the self help breakfast and rusks in-room, plenty pillows, extension cords, fans – everything any traveler might need. The beautiful peaceful garden and pool just add that extra little calming touch to this lovely Room with a View. Thank you Rosie for this Grace you share!

  We absolutely LOVED staying here and wish we had booked an extra night. The cottage is on an incredibly beautiful property that is well maintained.
  
  The room is surrounded by large windows so you can see nature all around.
  We felt like we were stepping into a 'Home'. We are all about atmosphere and this space was so cozy, we really did feel right at home here.
  
  We were greeted warmly and shown around. They have gone over and above on the details. There were fruit bowls and muffins on arrival, and and array of coffee and tea, and rusks and granola for the morning at no additional cost. There is a mini bar should you wish for something extra.
  
  I highly, highly recommend this accommodation. The surrounding area is beautiful! In a safe and quiet neighbourhood.
