I stayed there during autumn (which is absolutely gorgeous in this part of Jo’burg, by the way), and you wake up to these massive jacaranda trees right outside your windows. The space feels more like a well-appointed apartment than a hotel room, which honestly makes perfect sense for longer stays or if you’re doing business in Sandton but want somewhere peaceful to decompress. There’s a proper kitchenette that’s actually functional – not one of those token setups with a broken microwave – and the living area has enough room to spread out your laptop without feeling cramped. What really struck me was how quiet it gets at night. You know how some places claim to be peaceful but you still hear traffic until 2 AM? Not here. The only sounds are the occasional hadeda ibis calling in the morning, which, if you’ve spent time in this part of South Africa, you’ll know is just part of the soundtrack.

Parking was surprisingly straightforward too, which anyone who’s dealt with Sandton will appreciate. The host clearly knows the area well – they pointed me toward this little coffee spot about a ten-minute walk away that I never would have found otherwise, and gave me the real scoop on which routes to avoid during rush hour. You’re close enough to walk to some decent restaurants along Rivonia Road, but far enough from the main drag that you don’t get the weekend party noise. I actually ended up extending my stay by two nights because, honestly, it just felt comfortable in a way that’s hard to find in this part of the city. If you’re looking for something with character that doesn’t feel like every other business hotel in Sandton, this place gets it right. Just don’t expect a big lobby scene or concierge service – it’s more intimate than that, which depending on what you’re after, might be exactly the point.
