Plus, you’re right next to all these great restaurants and the Zone shopping center, so you’re not stuck eating hotel food every night. I stayed here during a busy conference week, and while the four-star rating might seem modest, the service felt more personal than some five-star places I’ve been to. The staff – especially at reception – actually remembered my name after the first day, which sounds small but makes a huge difference when you’re jet-lagged and far from home.

What really won me over was the attention to practical details. The rooms are spacious by Johannesburg standards, with these floor-to-ceiling windows that give you proper views of the city (ask for a higher floor if you can). The Wi-Fi is fast – and I actually tested it because hotel internet can be a nightmare when you need to work. The gym is decent too, though it gets packed around 6 AM with the business crowd. Honestly, the pool area is where this place shines – it’s this little oasis tucked away where you can actually hear birds instead of traffic, which in a city like this feels like a minor miracle. One thing to know: parking is secure and included, but the entrance can be a bit tricky to find the first time – it’s off the side street, not directly on Oxford Road. Also, if you’re sensitive to noise, the rooms facing the main road can get a bit busy during morning traffic, but nothing a decent pair of earplugs won’t handle. The breakfast buffet is solid without being fancy – good coffee, fresh fruit, and they do a proper South African breakfast if you want to try something local. Really though, what makes this place work is that it feels like they understand travelers who need both comfort and efficiency, whether you’re here for a quick business trip or using it as a base to explore the city.

  Excellent location (the best in Joanhannesburg), and breakfast, confortable room,, nice staff (except for the back office).
  
  What could be improved: The second time I stayed there, they placed me in an accessible room, which I do not like because the bathroom becomes a complete mess after a shower.
  
  However, the biggest issue was not that—it was the fact that the hotel did not fully refund the two-day deposit they charged to my digital card. I was only able to use that credit to pay for my last stay, which was just one day.
  
  The excuse the front desk lady gave me was that she needed a physical card to process the refund on the card machine. She even said that the main card, the one linked to my digital card, would not work because the numbers are obviously different.
  
  I followed her instructions and sent an email to the finance office with my Wise account details. Since then, I have been trying to get my money back, but with no success.
  
  It is honestly ridiculous. IHG does not need that small amount of money, but I do.
  
  Here is a warning: do not let them charge your digital card, or you will have a nightmare trying to get your refund. They do not trust you and charge a hefty deposit on your card. So why should you trust them? You should not.

  The hotel in centered next to the Rosebank Shopping Mall, great access for hop on off bus,
  The rooms are very comfortable and provide all essential needs, we had a beautiful view which was great, the breakfast was very good, well catered for all needs. The daily room cleaning was good
  
  What could be improved: My only issue was, I tried to email in advance to book a late checkout, was inform had to wait until we arrived and to discuss with reception. Each day we check, and it was not until the final day, we had approved complimentary late checkout at 2pm, we had been informed the hotel was heavily booked at the time.

  Great location with access to shopping mall through building. Rooms are very comfortable, staff helpful and prices reasonable. Hotel is close proximity to the Gautrain, which is the quickest (and safe) way to get to/from the Airport. Rosebank is a lovely older style suburb with lots of restaurants, cafes and shopping mall all within safe walking distance.
