I’ll be honest, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Home Suite Hotels Rosebank on Bristol Road – the corner location with Oxford Road had me worried about traffic noise. But you know what? This place actually surprised me in the best way possible. The four-star setup here feels more like a well-appointed apartment building than your typical hotel, which makes sense once you realize they’re going for that extended-stay vibe. The suites are genuinely spacious (not just hotel-spacious, but actually spacious), and honestly, after staying in cramped Johannesburg hotel rooms before, walking into one of these felt like a small luxury.

What really works about this spot is how it sits in Rosebank – you’re basically in the middle of everything without being stuck in the chaos of the city center. I mean, you can walk to the Gautrain station in about ten minutes, which is huge if you’re flying in and out of OR Tambo. The Zone, that shopping complex everyone talks about, is right there too, plus you’ve got the Sunday market at the Rosebank Rooftop if you’re around on weekends. The hotel itself has this quiet, residential feel despite being on a busy corner – they’ve done something right with the soundproofing because I barely noticed the traffic. The staff genuinely seems to care about what they’re doing, which you don’t always get at places like this. Check-in was smooth, they actually remembered my name the next day, and when I mentioned I was looking for a good coffee spot, the guy at reception gave me proper local recommendations, not just the chain places.

The rooms themselves are what sold me on this place – full kitchens that actually work, separate living areas where you can spread out your stuff, and bathrooms that don’t feel like airplane lavatories. I stayed for four nights and it honestly felt more like borrowing a friend’s apartment than being stuck in hotel limbo. The wifi is solid (tested it on video calls, no issues), there’s decent parking if you’re driving, and the housekeeping team strikes that perfect balance of being thorough without being intrusive. Look, it’s not the fanciest place you’ll find in Johannesburg, and the building itself won’t win any architectural awards, but if you want somewhere comfortable and practical in Rosebank without paying Sandton prices, this is your spot. The 9.3 rating it’s got makes total sense once you’ve been there – it just works really well at what it’s trying to do.

  Excellent breakfast and dinner. Good staff. Good and safe location. The room is amazing in all respects. The bed is absolutely incredible. Desk is the room was very helpful. the room was very comfortable for a business travelers. The front desk rep arranged a set of tours with the amazing company called Phillipians Four. I would highly recommend this company for planning your tours.

  Well located in Rosebank, our second stay here. There is something about this place, it feels so homely from the greeting at the gate to the breakfast staff. The rooms are quiet, super clean and amenities upmarket in many ways. Very comfortable large bed, water pressure and large rooms. The restaurant makes a great breakfast and has lunch & dinner.   The hotel was very comfortable with good facilities and comfortable beds
  The breakfast was excellent with the option of freshly squeezed juices and eggs, oats as requested. We also had dinner with soup, pizza and pasta and the quality was very good. The staff were very helpful and cheerful
  The staff at the front desk were very helpful and organised taxis / uber for airport, sightseeing and the Sandton mall
  We stayed here on the way into and out of South Africa
  
  What could be improved: We could not go walking around the area near the hotel as it was not advised due to petty crime like phone snatching. Of course this is not in this area only but across the town (no fault of the hotel!)
