They’re not hovering over you trying to upsell spa treatments every five minutes, but when you need something – directions to the Gautrain station, restaurant recommendations that aren’t tourist traps, or help sorting out a taxi – they actually know what they’re talking about. The location is honestly perfect if you’re doing business in Sandton City or the surrounding office towers, but it’s also close enough to Rosebank and Melville that you can escape the corporate bubble pretty easily. I stayed here during a particularly busy conference season, and while the place was full, it never felt crowded or chaotic. The soundproofing between rooms is surprisingly good – something you really appreciate when your neighbor is taking international calls at odd hours due to time zone differences. Look, it’s not going to blow your mind with flashy amenities or Instagram-worthy infinity pools, but sometimes you just want a place that does the basics really, really well while giving you enough space to actually relax after a long day navigating Joburg traffic.
