It’s tucked away on West Road South in Morningside, which honestly feels like one of Johannesburg’s best-kept secrets for staying close to Sandton without all the corporate hotel sterility. I mean, you’re literally a few minutes from the Sandton CBD madness, but the vibe here is completely different – more like crashing at a well-connected friend’s place than checking into another generic business hotel.

The whole setup is actually pretty clever. It’s housed in the Masingita Towers, and while that might sound intimidating, the building has this solid, residential feel that I really appreciated. The apartments themselves are spacious in that way that makes you forget you’re in the heart of one of Africa’s financial districts. What caught me off guard was how quiet it gets at night – I was expecting city noise, but the double-glazed windows and the building’s position create this surprisingly peaceful bubble. The four-star rating feels about right, though honestly, some of the finishes and the kitchen setups punch above that level. I spent a good chunk of my morning just enjoying coffee on the balcony, watching Joburg wake up without feeling like I was in a fishbowl.

Here’s the thing that really matters though – the location is absolutely spot-on for anyone who needs to be in Sandton but wants to maintain some sanity. You can walk to the Gautrain station (well, it’s a decent walk, but totally doable), and getting to Sandton City or the Convention Centre is genuinely effortless. But what I loved most was being able to slip away to some of Morningside’s quieter spots when the corporate crowd got overwhelming. The parking situation is sorted, which honestly is half the battle in this part of town. The staff seemed to actually know the neighborhood too – they pointed me toward a fantastic little coffee spot that I never would have found otherwise. I will say the check-in process was a bit more involved than your typical hotel since it’s apartment-style, but once you’re settled, having that full kitchen and proper living space makes such a difference. It’s the kind of place where you can actually spread out your work, cook a decent meal, and feel like you’re living somewhere rather than just passing through.

  We were properly attended by the apartment management personnel, led by Melissa. She was quiet responsive and followed up on us ensuring that we are comfortable. The home appliances including the furnitures are top notch and the apartment is well maintained and looks like it is on the photos. The apartment was also well stocked with all necessary items such as toilet papers, towels, washing soaps, shower gel etc. The location too was great
  
  What could be improved: The building accommodate a restaurant/bar at the first floor with a lot of customers in and out thus the public areas such as the swimming pool, are always crowded which in a way may act as inconvenient to family stay. However, it's not something that you can blame or take issue with the apartment control.
