The thing about staying here is that you get this perfect balance – you’re close enough to the city center that you can easily hop over to places like Newtown or the Maboneng Precinct (maybe 20 minutes by car, depending on Jo’burg traffic), but far enough out that you actually get to sleep at night without sirens and street noise keeping you up. The owners have done something really thoughtful with the space too. I mean, it’s not trying to be some fancy boutique hotel, but there’s this attention to detail that makes you feel like you’re staying with people who actually care about hospitality. The breakfast – and trust me, this matters more than you think when you’re dealing with jet lag or early morning business meetings – is properly good. None of that sad continental spread nonsense.

What really got me was how the staff seemed to know the area inside and out. When I mentioned wanting to grab dinner somewhere that wasn’t touristy, they didn’t just hand me a generic list – they actually walked me through which places would be good on a Tuesday night versus the weekend, where to park, that sort of practical stuff that makes a real difference when you’re trying to navigate Johannesburg for the first time. The rooms themselves are comfortable in that unpretentious way that lets you actually relax. Good Wi-Fi (I tested it extensively, trust me), decent shower pressure, and the beds are firm enough that you won’t wake up feeling like you wrestled with the mattress all night. There’s also this little garden area where you can sit with coffee in the morning, which honestly beats the lobby of most chain hotels I’ve stayed in. Look, it’s not going to blow your mind with luxury amenities, but sometimes what you really want is a place that just works well without any drama – and that’s exactly what you get here.

  Security is good… No easy access. Quiet area. Bedding was clean and the room was clean 😅. Overall it's a nice place to get away from the city buzz also… There's always someone willing to assist… Just that some things should just be there 😁 it's not easy to ask everything.

  The was not even plates/ drinking glasses in the room, it was clean 😅… there's a stove but no pots for guest to cook, specially if you staying for more than one night.
  The massages are actually seasonal… Could be better if that part is updated.
