I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Luxe Sandton Suite Rooftop Pool and Sandton Skyline on Fredman Drive, I wasn’t expecting much from the exterior. The Lineal building looks pretty standard from street level, but man, you really can’t judge a book by its cover with this one. Once you get inside this four-star property, everything changes completely.

The thing that absolutely sold me on this place is that rooftop pool – and I mean, the name isn’t lying about the skyline views. You’re basically floating above Sandton with the entire business district spread out below you. I spent way too many evenings up there just watching the city lights come on, drink in hand. The pool area never felt crowded when I was there, which honestly surprised me given how Instagram-worthy the whole setup is. You know what really got me though? The staff actually remembers your drink order after the second day. That’s the kind of attention that makes a place memorable.

The suites themselves are genuinely spacious – not just “hotel spacious” where they’re trying to make a shoebox feel bigger with mirrors everywhere. I’m talking actual living space where you can spread out your laptop, leave your suitcase open, and still move around comfortably. The kitchen setup is solid too, which matters if you’re staying more than a few nights and getting tired of restaurant food. I actually ended up cooking breakfast a couple times using ingredients from the Woolworths down at Nelson Mandela Square, which is maybe a five-minute walk if you cut through the right passages. The air conditioning works properly (crucial for Johannesburg summers), and the Wi-Fi speed was fast enough that I could actually get work done without wanting to throw my computer out the window. Parking was straightforward too – none of that circling-the-block nightmare you get at some places in the area. The only minor thing I’d mention is that weekend nights can get a bit lively with the rooftop crowd, but honestly, the energy is part of what makes the place fun. If you’re looking for somewhere that feels more like a temporary home than just another hotel room, especially if you want to be right in the thick of Sandton’s business district, this spot really delivers on what it promises.

  El estudio es grande, todo nuevo y bien cuidado. Cama muy cómoda. Todo lo necesario para pasar unas buenas vacaciones. Cocina completa con máquina de café, tostador, etc. Café, té, leche, sal y pimienta.
  El baño muy limpio con champú, gel y loción corporal.
  Edificio seguro cerca de centro comercial, transporte, restaurantes. Está en una planta baja con un patio muy bonito interior y en la sexta planta hay una sala de juegos con billar, libros, sofás, piscina y jardín. Con unas vistas de toda la ciudad. Posibilidad de una cama de viaje para bebés. Perfecto para una pareja con un niño o incluso para personas que trabajan. En la sexta planta había gente teletrabajando ya que hay sala con mesas, sillas y con muy buena iluminación y muy tranquilo para teletrabajar.
  La persona de seguridad es muy amable.
  El propietario está muy atento.

  Absolutely everything was perfect. Honestly could find a single fault. We only needed to stay stay somewhere one night as we needed to be in Sandton area…. but to stay there for an extended period would be an absolute gift! Every small touch and finish was thought of. Thank you !
