The pool-facing aspect isn’t just marketing speak – I mean, you actually wake up to this pretty decent view of the water, which honestly makes morning coffee feel a bit more special. The apartment itself is spacious in that way that makes you forget you’re essentially in temporary accommodation. I found myself spreading out my stuff and actually relaxing instead of living out of a suitcase like usual. The kitchen setup is proper too – not just some sad mini-fridge situation, but actual space where you could cook if you wanted to save some rand or just felt like staying in.

Location-wise, Main Street puts you in a decent spot without being right in the chaos of the city center. You’re close enough to get where you need to go (the Gautrain stations aren’t far if you’re heading to the airport or Pretoria), but far enough that you’re not dealing with constant traffic noise. I actually walked to a few local spots for dinner – there’s this little place about ten minutes away that does incredible boerewors that most tourists never find. Parking was straightforward too, which anyone who’s driven in Joburg will tell you is not something to take for granted. The building itself feels secure, which matters here, and the staff were genuinely helpful rather than just going through the motions. Check-in was smooth, and they actually knew the area well enough to give solid recommendations. Sure, it’s not some flashy five-star hotel with a massive lobby and doormen, but that’s sort of the point – it feels more authentic, more like how people actually live when they’re not performing “luxury” for guests. If you want somewhere that’s comfortable, well-located, and doesn’t feel like every other hotel room you’ve ever stayed in, this place works really well.

  I loved the aesthetic of the room, the fact that it was small, yet feels like home away from home. Also the hosts brother attended to us right away and was able to cater to our problems and our needs, we will be coming back soon as our go to place

  What could be improved: We had to wait at the reception for booking confirmation while we booked long time ago, telling us the person who must confirm is in a meeting and The loadshedding was bad and we used our data for TV, the wifi wasn't working but besides that we enjoyed our stay the place is peaceful
