You’re close enough to walk to some solid local eateries – there’s this Ethiopian place about three blocks down that locals actually frequent, which tells you something. The apartments themselves have this lived-in comfort that’s hard to fake; the couches are actually comfortable (not just for show), and the beds don’t have that hotel-stiff feeling. I stayed during a particularly busy conference season, and while you could hear some street noise in the mornings, it wasn’t the kind that keeps you up at night. The kitchen setup is genuinely functional too – I’m talking full-sized fridge, proper stove, enough counter space to actually prep a meal if you want to save some rand on dining out.

Here’s the thing about this place that I think makes it worth considering: it strikes that sweet spot between hotel convenience and apartment independence. You get housekeeping service, but you’re not stuck with tiny bottles of shampoo and overpriced room service. The building has secure parking (which, let’s be real, matters in Joburg), and the elevators actually work consistently – small detail, but you notice these things. The 8.3 rating makes sense to me because it’s not trying to be something it’s not. It’s comfortable, well-maintained, and the kind of place where you can actually relax after a long day of meetings or sightseeing.   I loved that the signing in process was very easy, the owner communicated all the sign in details effeciently and on time. The apartment was very clean and every facility was working like it should. We always had hot water, the TV was always working properly and also the Wi-Fi was great. The kitchen has most things I needed.
  
  What could be improved: I didn't like that it is a little far from shops. If you don't have a car everything has to be done using bolts/ubers. There aren't many shops within a walking distance. Secondly, there was just: one toilet paper, one small shampoo bottle, one used small lotion, one used small shower gel, very little dish washing liquid, worn out kitchen sponge and no pot scraper. Given that I had signed in for 3 nights, having 3 bottles for each night would have been a great thing. I would have appreciated having a wooden spoon in the kitchen.
