Madison Palms West Overview

I’ll be honest, Madison Palms West caught me off guard in the best possible way. You know how sometimes you book a three-star place and brace yourself for mediocrity? Well, this isn’t one of those situations. Located right on North Road 34 in Sandton, it sits in this sweet spot where you’re close enough to walk to Nelson Mandela Square but far enough from the main drag that you actually get some peace at night.

The first thing that struck me walking in was how they’ve managed to create this relaxed, almost residential vibe despite being smack in the middle of one of Johannesburg’s busiest business districts. The lobby has this warm, lived-in feel – not flashy, but definitely comfortable. I mean, you’re not going to mistake it for the Carlton Centre’s luxury spots, but that’s actually part of its charm. The staff genuinely seem to remember your name after the first day, which is refreshing when you’re used to being just another room number. Parking is straightforward too, which anyone who’s driven around Sandton will appreciate – none of that circling-the-block nonsense you get closer to Sandton City.

What really won me over was the attention to those little details that matter when you’re actually living somewhere for a few days. The rooms are clean and well-maintained, with decent Wi-Fi that actually works (trust me, I tested it thoroughly during some long work calls). The beds are comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up with that hotel-mattress backache, and the air conditioning is quiet – something you’ll definitely appreciate during those hot Highveld summers. You’re literally minutes from Gautrain’s Sandton station, which makes getting to OR Tambo or Pretoria dead simple. Plus, if you need groceries or want to grab dinner, Sandton City is right there, but you can also find some great local spots along Rivonia Road that most tourists miss completely. Honestly, for the price point and location, it delivers exactly what it promises without any pretense. It’s the kind of place where you feel settled rather than just passing through.

Travelers should plan their Johannesburg visit at least two months ahead for major events like Heritage Day and Freedom Day celebrations, ensuring the best experiences and prime access to popular districts and attractions.

Reviews of Madison Palms West

  • Exceptional – Clementina from Germany – August 26, 2025 (10/10)

My recent stay had some significant issues, but there were also positive aspects worth mentioning.

On a positive note, the location was excellent and very quiet, which made for a peaceful stay. I also really appreciated the friendly and pleasant security staff. The apartment is just as on the pictures, great communication with the host.

What could be improved: When we first checked in, the room was not clean, which was disappointing. We also had to deal with a serious inconvenience: there was no running water for one to three days. Besides that the place is great.

  • Bad and worst night. Smelly and racism – Angelot from South Africa – July 21, 2025 (1/10)

    None dirty,and very racism

What could be improved: Everything about it. Weird energy

  • Poor – Spiwe from South Africa – July 7, 2025 (3/10)

    Spacious and clean

What could be improved: There was no running water the first 2 days and I was not pre warned in order to make my own decision.
    The TV was not connecting

  • Perfect – Ibhagbisoya from United Kingdom – June 30, 2025 (9/10)

I had an amazing stay at this beautiful apartment in Sandton! The space was clean, stylish, and very comfortable—exactly as described in the listing. The location couldn’t have been better: safe, central, and just a short distance from top restaurants, malls, and key attractions in Sandton.

The host was incredibly friendly and professional, with clear communication throughout my stay. Check-in was seamless, and all amenities were thoughtfully provided, including fast Wi-Fi, a well-equipped kitchen, and a cozy living area to unwind after a busy day.

It truly felt like a home away from home. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Johannesburg.

Thank you for such a wonderful experience!

The host was friendly always checking up, apartment perfect and clean and value for money , The place is secured, peaceful

What could be improved: Nothing specific just 1 day water crisis but that doesn’t make me dislike the place
