You know what caught me off guard about Me Time? I honestly wasn’t expecting much from a three-star spot on Mathers Road, but this place really gets the whole boutique hotel thing right. It’s tucked away in what feels like a quiet residential pocket of Johannesburg, which means you’re getting that peaceful vibe without being stuck in the middle of nowhere.

The first thing that hit me walking in was how they’ve actually put thought into the design – it’s not trying to be flashy or over the top, just sort of… comfortable in its own skin, if that makes sense. The rooms are honestly bigger than I expected, and there’s this attention to detail that you don’t always find at this price point. I mean, they’ve got proper blackout curtains (trust me, this matters when you’re dealing with jet lag), and the beds are actually decent quality, not those rock-hard mattresses you sometimes get stuck with. The bathroom setup is pretty smart too – nothing fancy, but everything works properly and the water pressure is solid.

What really won me over though is how the staff actually knows the area. When I asked about getting around, they didn’t just hand me some generic tourist map – they walked me through which parts of the city to hit during different times of day, where to grab proper coffee nearby, that sort of thing. Parking‘s straightforward, which honestly is half the battle in this part of town. The neighborhood itself is surprisingly quiet for Johannesburg – you’re close enough to the action but you can actually sleep at night without sirens and traffic noise. I’d say it’s perfect for business travelers who want something more personal than those big chain hotels, or couples looking for a base that doesn’t feel too touristy. The whole place just has this relaxed energy that makes you want to actually spend time there instead of treating it like just somewhere to crash between activities.

  No breakfast. Very good place to stay. Very quiet by night. 5G Internet, very fast. TV with Google Play. Very clean, comfortable bed, hot water. There is fridge and microwave. You can do coffee and tea. From there you can get easily Uber and go to Aparthaid Museum and Gold Reef Casino. There you can get the touristic bus Hop On Hop Off, best way to know the city. Only 40 Rand Uber to Aparthaid Museum. Near Aparthaid Museum there is a Gas Station where you can buy food, sandwiches, and all you need. Inside Gold Reef there are a lot of places for eating.
