I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to MINT Apartments Greenside, I wasn’t sure what to expect from this corner of Johannesburg. The building sits right on Greenway, and there’s something refreshingly understated about the whole setup. You know what struck me immediately? How quiet it actually gets here, especially considering you’re still properly connected to the rest of the city. I mean, Greenside has this sort of residential charm that’s hard to find in other parts of Joburg, and MINT really capitalizes on that.

The apartments themselves feel like someone actually thought about how people live, not just where they sleep. I stayed in one of their four-star units and honestly, the kitchen setup alone sold me – proper counter space, decent appliances, the kind of stuff that matters when you’re staying more than a couple nights. The living areas have this clean, modern thing going on without being cold or sterile. Large windows too, which is crucial because the natural light here is incredible (though you’ll want to figure out those blinds situation if you’re not an early riser). What I really appreciated was the attention to practical details – good water pressure in the shower, reliable Wi-Fi, air conditioning that actually works without sounding like a jet engine.

Location-wise, this is where MINT really shines, though you need to know what you’re getting into. Greenside isn’t Sandton or the Waterfront – it’s more of a proper neighborhood feel, which I actually loved. You’ve got great coffee spots within walking distance, some solid restaurants that locals actually frequent, and it’s surprisingly easy to get around from here. The Gautrain connections aren’t terrible, and if you’re driving, parking isn’t the nightmare it can be in other parts of the city. I found myself walking to dinner most nights, which felt safe and pleasant – something I wasn’t entirely expecting. The staff seemed genuinely helpful rather than just going through motions, and check-in was straightforward without any of that overly formal hotel theater. My only real complaint would be that the walls could be a bit thicker – I could occasionally hear conversations from neighboring units, though it wasn’t terrible. Overall, if you want something that feels more like staying in a well-designed apartment than a generic hotel room, and you don’t need to be right in the thick of the tourist action, MINT Apartments delivers on that promise pretty well.

  The apartment is spacious and they clean every day. It’s located in a fairly busy area and there’s restaurants and a Woolies nearby.

  The property is comfortable, it has woolies food nearby and there are restaurants in close proximity. WiFi works well, the apartment is clean, shower pressure is excellent! If you need anything, front desk is always ready to help.

  The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The blankets were warm. Perfectly operational stove. The area was not too loud and busy so there was not much noise.
