The apartment itself feels way more spacious than most hotel rooms you’d get at this four-star level – the bedroom actually fits a proper king bed with space to walk around it, and the living area has this decent-sized couch where you can spread out your laptop without feeling cramped.

What really won me over, though, was how well-equipped the kitchen is. I’m talking full-size fridge, proper stovetop, even decent knives that aren’t completely dull (you know how rare that is in serviced apartments). The grocery store downstairs in The Zone means you can actually cook real meals instead of surviving on room service and takeout. The building itself has this modern feel without being sterile – good elevator service, reliable Wi-Fi throughout, and honestly, the staff at reception know their stuff about the area. They pointed me toward this excellent Ethiopian place called Addis Red Sea that I never would’ve found otherwise, just a short drive toward Melrose. Parking was straightforward too, which in Joburg is always a relief – secure basement parking that you don’t have to stress about.

The neighborhood vibe is actually pretty great once you get your bearings. Sure, Rosebank can feel a bit corporate during weekday mornings when everyone’s rushing to work, but evenings and weekends have this relaxed energy. You’ve got the Sunday market at the Rosebank Mall (about a 15-minute walk), some solid restaurants within easy reach, and if you’re into nightlife, the Melrose Arch area is just a quick Uber ride away. The apartment stays surprisingly quiet considering you’re right in the business district – good soundproofing, I guess. I stayed during a particularly busy week in September and barely heard street noise. My only minor complaint would be that the shower pressure could be a bit stronger, but that’s honestly nitpicking. For the price point and the location, this place delivers way more than most traditional hotels in the area, especially if you’re staying for more than just a night or two and want some real living space.

  What could be improved: The receptionists were not as helpful as I thought they would be. I had to dial the number on the App myself as we couldn't find the PIN. I had to do an upside down with Bags as the number that I thought was the PIN didn't go through. Maybe having them trained about how BOOKING.COM booking works would be beneficial.

  What could be improved: Extremely poor professionalism. When I tried calling the host, he did not answer. The receptionist also tried calling to no avail. I eventually had to spend extra to book. When I requested assistance from Bookings.com, that fell on deaf ears. Consider my lifetime value with Bookings erased. I don't understand if you are allowing people to run rackets using your platform, but it sure looks like it. I'm glad it was only R800.
