This four-star place has that boutique hotel vibe down to a science. I mean, the moment you step into the lobby, there’s this immediate sense that someone actually thought about the details here. The staff genuinely seems to know what they’re doing – check-in was smooth, and they had those little touches like remembering my name without constantly checking their computer screen. The rooms themselves are what I’d call understated elegant, if that makes sense. Nothing too flashy, but everything works exactly as it should. The beds are proper comfortable (I’m picky about mattresses), and the bathrooms have that rainfall shower situation that actually has decent water pressure – you’d be surprised how many hotels mess that up.

What really sets this place apart though is its location in the broader Johannesburg context. You’re close enough to reach Sandton’s financial district in about fifteen minutes by car, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the traffic madness first thing in the morning. There’s something to be said for being able to step outside and not immediately be surrounded by construction sites and office towers. The neighborhood around Hurlingham Road has some decent restaurants within walking distance – nothing fancy, but solid spots where locals actually eat. Parking is straightforward too, which anyone who’s tried to navigate Johannesburg by car will appreciate. I stayed there during a particularly busy conference week, and while other hotels in the area were completely swamped, this place maintained that calm, controlled atmosphere. The service never felt rushed, and the common areas never turned into that chaotic lobby scene you get at bigger chain hotels. Honestly, with a 9.1 rating, you know they’re doing something right, and after staying there, I can see why people keep coming back.

  The location is perfect with close proximity to Hyde Park, Rosebank and Sandton. The apartment was clean and very comfortable and had everything I needed. The gym and restaurant were also great and very conveniently located right by the unit. I enjoyed my stay and will be back for sure.

  A beautiful, light apartment in a lovely area. It is 20 minute walk or 5 minute drive to Rosebank Mall where you can take the Red Tour bus. The property is very quiet and has parking..It has an onsite cafe for a convenient breakfast, lunch or snack and a swimming pool.
  
  What could be improved: We didn't respond to the owner's email so had a problem getting in, so you need to make sure you respond before your arrival. We also had trouble getting the TV channels to come on, but that's quite common in S. Africa in our experience. The office helped us out quickly after we notified them of the problem
