I’ll be honest, when I first pulled up to One Rosebank Luxe Studios on Cradock Avenue, I wasn’t sure what to expect – the entrance is actually pretty understated for what turns out to be a solid four-star spot. But you know what? Sometimes that’s exactly what you want, especially in Johannesburg where flashy can sometimes mean “tourist trap.”

The studios themselves are genuinely well thought out, and I mean that – these aren’t just hotel rooms with a kitchenette thrown in. Someone actually considered how people live when they’re staying somewhere for more than a night or two. The beds are proper comfortable (I’m picky about this), and there’s enough space to spread out your stuff without feeling like you’re living out of a suitcase. What really got me though was the attention to little things – decent lighting for actually reading, outlets where you need them, and a kitchenette that’s functional enough to make real meals if you want to skip the restaurant scene for a night. The whole place has this clean, modern vibe without being sterile, if that makes sense.

Location-wise, you’re right in the heart of Rosebank, which honestly works really well. It’s close enough to walk to the Gautrain station – maybe eight minutes if you’re not rushing – and the Zone mall is basically next door when you need to grab something. I actually ended up at the Sunday market at the Rosebank Rooftop more than I expected, just because it was so easy to pop over. Parking was straightforward too, which anyone who’s driven around Joburg will tell you is not something to take for granted. The area feels safe to walk around during the day, and there’s enough foot traffic that you don’t feel isolated. Evenings are fine too, though like anywhere in the city, you’ll want to be smart about it. The 8.9 rating they’ve got makes sense to me – it’s not perfect (the wifi can be a bit temperamental, and housekeeping sometimes comes earlier than you’d like), but for what you’re paying and where you are, it delivers on what it promises. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I was in town for business or needed somewhere comfortable for more than just a quick stopover.

  The apartment was the perfect quick overnight stop in Joburg. Good value for money. It is small, but space is utilised very well. The apartment even has a washing machine! Reception is open 24 hours, so very convenient for late check ins. Security and reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Fast Wifi. I had a couple of questions for the host before arrival and they answered quickly.
  
  What could be improved: The apartment is exactly as advertised, so there isn't anything to complain about. I knew it would be small with lots of neighbours.

  What could be improved: The cleaners didn’t wipe the finger prints everywhere, on the oven, microwave and mirrors just when you come in you see them. Other than that place is beautiful.

  Friendliness of the staff. They have comfortable beds. Quiet and refreshing. Very clean and spacious. Location is absolutely perfect
