I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to One Rosebank- Zero 31 Escape on Cradock Avenue, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The name’s a bit of a mouthful, and from the street it looks more like an upscale residential building than a hotel. But that’s actually part of its charm, you know? It feels like you’re staying at a friend’s incredibly well-appointed apartment rather than just another generic hotel room.

The whole setup is essentially a boutique apartment-style accommodation, and the four-star rating really shows in the details. I mean, the kitchen was better equipped than my own place back home – proper coffee machine, full-size fridge, even decent knives for cooking. The living area has this modern-meets-cozy vibe with floor-to-ceiling windows that let in tons of natural light. What really got me though was how quiet it stays, even being right in the heart of Johannesburg. You’d think with all the activity in Rosebank you’d hear traffic constantly, but the soundproofing is surprisingly good. I actually slept better here than I do at home most nights.

Location-wise, you’re literally walking distance from everything that matters in Rosebank – the Gautrain station is maybe eight minutes on foot (I timed it), and you’ve got the Mall of Rosebank, Zone shopping center, and all those great restaurants along Cradock and Bath Avenue right there. The Sunday market at the mall is fantastic if you’re around for the weekend. Parking was straightforward too, which honestly surprised me given how cramped some Johannesburg accommodations can be. The staff – well, there isn’t really traditional hotel staff since it’s more of a serviced apartment situation – but the check-in process was smooth and they’re responsive when you need something. I had a minor issue with the Wi-Fi on my second day and they sorted it out within the hour. You know what really impressed me? The little touches that show someone actually thinks about what travelers need – proper hangers in the closet, enough power outlets near the bed, blackout curtains that actually block light. It’s those details that bump a place from good to genuinely comfortable. The 9.5 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed here for a few days.

  It's closer to the Rosebank Mall, it's walking distance.
  The Security guys were friendly and helpful hence we didn't know the place.

  What could be improved: Room 31 was way to far from the reception or gate, plus I didn't get an option when booking to choose the balcony.
  
  But it was great, room was clean and warm, staf was friendly.
