Peace Haven Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Peace Haven on Adrienne Street, I wasn’t expecting much from what looked like a pretty standard three-star place in Sandton. But you know what? Sometimes the unassuming spots surprise you the most, and this little gem absolutely did.
The thing about staying in Johannesburg is that location really matters, and Peace Haven nails it without being obvious about it. You’re tucked away on this quiet residential street that actually feels peaceful (hence the name, I guess), but you’re still close enough to walk to the Gautrain station when you need to get around. I mean, Sandton can be pretty hectic during the day with all the business district chaos, but Adrienne Street stays surprisingly calm – I could actually sleep with the windows cracked open, which is saying something for Jo’burg. The owner clearly knows the neighborhood well because there’s this little café about two blocks down that serves incredible boerewors rolls, and honestly, I never would’ve found it without their recommendation.
What really got me was how they’ve managed to make a smaller property feel genuinely welcoming rather than cramped. The rooms aren’t huge – let’s be real about that – but they’re thoughtfully put together with decent Wi-Fi (I was working remotely, so this mattered) and these surprisingly comfortable beds that didn’t leave me feeling like I’d been wrestling all night. The staff actually remembers your name after day one, which feels pretty rare these days. I had this one morning where I came down early for coffee and ended up chatting with the manager about the best routes to avoid traffic heading to the airport – turns out there’s this back way through Bryanston that saves you about twenty minutes during rush hour. That’s the kind of local knowledge you just don’t get at the big chain places. Sure, you won’t find a fancy spa or multiple restaurants here, but there’s something refreshing about a place that focuses on doing the basics really well instead of trying to be everything to everyone. Plus, parking is actually free and secure, which anyone who’s stayed in Sandton will tell you is basically a minor miracle.

Reviews of Peace Haven
On the go! – Mmankhu from Zambia – September 22, 2025 (7/10)
The place was clean and comfortable
What could be improved: When we arrived at the location by a shuttle, our booking didn't reflect on the hostess end although the payment was made, and we were almost turned away. Back and forth communication with the hostess was uncomfortable but the issue was resolved and we ended up enjoying our stay.I had a restful week and would book the place again – Tshepiso from Botswana – September 18, 2025 (9/10)
It was quiet, clean and our security was prioritised. The host was hospitable. The rooms were quite spacious and the garden was well kept.
