Premier Hotel Falstaff Overview
You know what really struck me about Premier Hotel Falstaff? It’s one of those places that gets Sandton right without trying too hard. I mean, you’re literally on Rivonia Road – which honestly can be a bit hectic during rush hour – but once you’re inside, there’s this unexpected calm that settles over everything.
The whole four-star setup here feels genuine rather than flashy. When I walked into the lobby, it had that polished-but-not-precious vibe that actually makes you want to linger rather than just rush through to your room. The staff genuinely seemed to know what they were doing, which isn’t always a given in Johannesburg, and check-in was refreshingly straightforward. What I really appreciated was how they handle the practical stuff well – parking is sorted (trust me, this matters in Sandton), and the rooms are designed by someone who clearly travels themselves. The beds are properly comfortable, not just hotel-firm, and there’s actual desk space if you need to get work done. The bathrooms have that satisfying weight to the fixtures that tells you they’ve invested in quality rather than just appearance.
Being in Morningside puts you in this sweet spot where you can walk to some decent restaurants without dealing with the full Sandton City chaos, but you’re still close enough to everything that matters. I found myself using the hotel as a proper base rather than just somewhere to crash – the kind of place where you don’t mind spending a rainy afternoon in the lounge area. The service strikes that perfect balance between attentive and not hovering, and honestly, after staying at some of the more ostentatious places in the area, there’s something refreshing about a hotel that focuses on doing the fundamentals really well rather than overwhelming you with gimmicks. It’s the sort of place that business travelers genuinely appreciate, but it’s relaxed enough that you’d be comfortable bringing family too.
Many travelers prefer to book tours in Johannesburg through trusted local operators that provide insider knowledge about the best areas for experiencing the city’s vibrant culture and rich historical heritage.

Reviews of Premier Hotel Falstaff
Good place to stay! – Pascale from Colombia – September 8, 2025 (9/10)
Location was good for us. The room was spacious. Staff was available to help us with our questions or requests.
What could be improved: I’m not keen on carpets in rooms, although it didn’t look dirty. I think it could do with a couple of simple adjustments to become incredible again.Altogether though, I would like to return for another visit…when it is less cold. – Mohammed from Trinidad and Tobago – August 25, 2025 (8/10)
Breakfast was very good in that the staff was helpful in catering to my dietary restrictions. The room was beautifully decorated and comfortable. The location in Sandton was scenic and easily accessible.
What could be improved: Coming from a tropical Caribbean country, it was very very distressing having to walk out in the open night to get to the hotel room. I would have liked to have a room accessible via the main entrance.Very Good – Paul from Ghana – August 20, 2025 (8/10)
