What I really appreciated was the kitchenette setup; it’s not just a mini-fridge and a coffee maker, but actual counter space where you can prep a decent breakfast or store those leftovers from dinner at one of the nearby restaurants. The Wi-Fi was solid throughout my stay (I work remotely, so this matters), and the air conditioning didn’t sound like a jet engine, which you’d be surprised how often that’s an issue in this part of the world.

Here’s the thing about this area – Illovo can get pretty busy during rush hour, but if you’re exploring the city, you’re perfectly positioned. Walking to the Rosebank area takes maybe fifteen minutes, and there’s decent street lighting if you’re out in the evening. I found myself grabbing coffee at the little spots along Jan Smuts Avenue more mornings than not. The hotel staff seemed to actually know the neighborhood too – they pointed me toward this Ethiopian place that definitely wasn’t on any tourist map but turned out to be incredible. Parking was straightforward, which honestly is half the battle in Sandton. The garage felt secure, and I never had to circle around looking for a spot. One small thing – the elevator can be a bit slow during peak times, but it’s hardly a dealbreaker. Overall, it’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re staying somewhere real rather than just passing through a bland hotel bubble.

  It was quiet and relaxing. It was well cleaned and I loved the position of the apartment, far from the others. Access to Netflix and Wi-Fi was easy.
