Located right in the heart of Sandton, it sits perfectly positioned between the financial district buzz and Rivonia’s quieter residential charm. You know what really caught my attention? The staff actually remembered my name after the first day, which doesn’t happen often at larger properties.

Here’s the thing about this location — it’s genuinely brilliant for couples, and I can see why they rate it so highly. You’re literally minutes from Sandton City and Nelson Mandela Square if you want shopping or dining, but step outside and you’re in this leafy, upscale area that feels worlds away from the city chaos. The Gautrain station is close enough to reach OR Tambo easily, but far enough that you don’t hear any noise. I mean, being on 5th Avenue in Edenburg puts you right where you want to be without the typical urban hotel drawbacks.

My room was actually larger than I expected — these aren’t cramped city spaces at all. The design leans contemporary without being cold, and the bed was genuinely comfortable (I’m picky about mattresses). What impressed me most was the attention to small details: proper blackout curtains, multiple charging points, and a work area that’s actually functional if you need to get things done. The bathroom felt modern and well-appointed, though nothing overly flashy — just solid quality throughout.

Practical Perks

The free parking situation is honestly a game-changer in this part of Johannesburg — you don’t realize how valuable this is until you’re not circling blocks looking for a spot or paying premium rates. Security is clearly taken seriously here, which gives you peace of mind whether you’re out exploring or just settled in for the evening. The property feels intimate enough that you’re not lost in a maze of corridors, but substantial enough to offer proper amenities and service levels.

Look, I’ve stayed at plenty of places in the Sandton area, and this one just gets the balance right. It’s sophisticated without being pretentious, well-located without the noise, and personal without being intrusive. The 9.5 rating makes complete sense when you experience how everything works together — from the seamless check-in to the genuine helpfulness of the team. For couples especially, there’s something about the atmosphere here that feels more special occasion than business trip, even though it handles both perfectly well.   The breakfast selection was unbelievable!!!! The kitchen has an amazing coffee machine, also kitted out with an airfryer and washing machine. Everything you need for a few nights stay! Stunning!!! The beds and pillows are super comfy! It is safe and quiet!

  After a nightmare landing in Johannesburg our first property wasn’t fit to stay in, we booked with Lilian at the arches of Rivonia and what an absolute pleasure Lilian was, letting us check in early after booking at short notice, we arrived to a very stunning complex with friendly and helpful security, we went to the apartment to be greeted by Lilian and again very friendly and pleasant, the apartment is stunning with a very nice kitchen to cook in with a lot of appliances, from a coffee machine with coffe beans to a panini maker, beds very comfortable and clean, a nice balcony to enjoy our lunch and dinner on, we couldn’t be happier with our stay at the arches of rivonia and Lilian, the area was very safe with shops and restaurants within 5 minutes walking distance. This stay saved our holiday from being a nightmare to being an amazing trip. Would 100% recommend staying here to anyone and we will be booking to stay again in the near future.

  We had a truly wonderful stay at Lilian’s beautiful 2-bedroom apartment! From the moment we arrived, Lilian welcomed us with such warmth and kindness, immediately making us feel at home. She went above and beyond to arrange her apartment like a real "second home," with thoughtful touches everywhere that made our stay incredibly comfortable.
  
  The apartment is located in a very secure complex, so we always felt safe and at ease. The location is also fantastic—very central, with shops and restaurants just a short walk away, which made everything so convenient for us.
  
  We are especially grateful for how caring Lilian was with us and our two furbabies. She treated our pets as part of the family, showing them so much love and making sure they were just as comfortable as we were!
