The building itself isn’t flashy – honestly, you might walk right past it if you’re not paying attention – but there’s something refreshingly unpretentious about that whole stretch of road.

What really works here is the location, though I wish someone had warned me about the morning traffic on Grayston. If you’re planning to get anywhere in Sandton before 9 AM, give yourself extra time because that intersection near Nelson Mandela Square turns into a proper mess. But here’s the thing – once you’re settled in, you’re walking distance to pretty much everything that matters. The Gautrain station is maybe ten minutes if you don’t mind the slight uphill walk, and I actually found myself using it more than I thought I would. The apartments themselves feel lived-in rather than hotel-sterile, which I appreciated after spending way too many nights in cookie-cutter business hotels around the area. The kitchenettes are small but functional – I managed to make decent coffee every morning, and there’s enough counter space to spread out if you’re working on your laptop.

The staff here seem to actually know the neighborhood, which is rarer than it should be. When I asked about decent places to grab dinner that weren’t tourist traps, the guy at reception didn’t just hand me a brochure – he actually gave me specific recommendations and even mentioned which nights certain restaurants get crowded. I ended up at this Ethiopian place he suggested that I never would have found on my own. Honestly, the service feels more personal than what you’d get at the bigger hotels in the area, probably because they’re not dealing with massive tour groups every day. The Wi-Fi held up fine for video calls, parking was straightforward (and free, which is practically a miracle in Sandton), and the rooms stay surprisingly quiet considering you’re right in the middle of everything. It’s not going to win any design awards, but if you want somewhere comfortable to base yourself while exploring Johannesburg without paying premium hotel prices, this place delivers exactly what it promises.

  the location was ok and closer to the shops
  
  What could be improved: the house was not properly cleaned there was hair all over the place in the bath and on the towels.there were only 2pots to use and no containers to put our food. the fridge was very small.the floors were not properly cleaned.The tv kept reminding us to pay for the subscription. the couch is old and worn out.

  The people lied and change the location of the apartment at the last moment. And said it was a upgrade. A complete lie just to get me to pay for accommodation that they did not have. I was left stranded and had to walk around looking for accommodation at night. Never recommend these people at all.

  Loved that there is a mall right in front so we went there for breakfast and went to sorbet for massage and pedicures. The plants everywhere,green green green property!💚

  I loved the AESTHETICS in the living room, bedroom and bathroom😍it was indeed a cozy place. The apartment just felt so lively. All cleaning supplies were provided as well as the fan,heater, iron and ironing board. Practically your home away from home.

  I love the location very close to the city and also to the malls. The house manager was very helpful.
  
  What could be improved: The service was terrible. I asked for extra towels and a shower gel, since I was staying for 3 nights and I was met with the following response “I will ask the owner” and, only made effort to bring them on my last night at the apartment which was very disappointing.
  No plugs in the bathroom.No extra plug in the bedroom, it’s only for the bedside lamp if you need to use it then you need to unplug the bedside lamp then plug your gadgets.
  The room was also dusty.
