You know what really struck me about Sandton Suites Westpoint when I first walked in? It doesn’t try to be something it’s not. This three-star property on Grayston Drive sits right in the thick of Sandton’s business district, and honestly, that’s exactly what makes it work so well. I mean, you’re literally surrounded by those gleaming corporate towers and shopping centers, but the hotel itself feels refreshingly unpretentious – like finding a comfortable pair of jeans in a closet full of suits.

The location is pretty brilliant if you ask me. You can walk to Sandton City Mall in about ten minutes (though Johannesburg folks will look at you funny for walking anywhere), and Nelson Mandela Square is right there too. What I really appreciated was how easy it was to grab an Uber from here – drivers actually know where Grayston Drive is, which isn’t always a given in Johannesburg. The rooms themselves are clean and functional, nothing fancy but they’ve got everything you need. The beds are actually decent – I’ve stayed in supposedly fancier places with worse mattresses, to be honest. There’s a sort of no-nonsense efficiency to the whole place that I found oddly comforting.

Here’s the thing though – and this is where staying here for a few days really pays off – the staff genuinely seem to care about getting things right. I had this issue with the air conditioning making this weird clicking noise, and instead of just moving me to another room, the maintenance guy actually came up and fixed it properly. Small thing, but you know how those little details can make or break a stay. The breakfast isn’t going to win any awards, but it’s solid and they keep it well-stocked even during the morning rush when all the business travelers are heading out. Parking is secure and included, which honestly is worth its weight in gold in this part of town – you don’t want to be hunting for street parking around here. The only minor gripe I’d have is that the walls are a bit thin, so if you get stuck next to someone having late-night conference calls (and in Sandton, there’s always someone having late-night conference calls), you might hear more than you’d like. But overall, Sandton Suites Westpoint just gets the job done really well, and sometimes that’s exactly what you want from a place to stay.

  This B&B was exceptional compared to others I've stayed at. It had a warm, welcoming atmosphere and was impeccably clean, making it feel like a home away from home.

  The apartment was cleaned daily.
  The lady that I dealt with was helpful and tried to assist wherever she could.
  
  What could be improved: We stayed at number 42. Pictures on Booking. Com were not the same as the apartment that I booked. Reception was not welcoming and friendly. It's in a building that's separate to the apartments which looks like a small security hut.
  We booked for 4 adults, but there was only 3 seats in the lounge, 3 forks, knives, spoons which I had to request for more. Cutlery was sent but not a seat for the lounge.
  Most of the crockery and glasses were chipped, cracked, broken.

  Noma, the host was very responsive to our requests, she is a great lady.
  
  What could be improved: Apartment was different from what I booked on booking.com I had to do with one of the options availed. Furnishings (sofas, beds, utensils etc) is old and substandard, supply of toiletries is unpredictable, same with cleaning services, washing machine available but no dryer. On request however, Noma bought for us some new utensils and cutlery.

  What could be improved: The bedding needs upgrade the duvet covers and inners needs to be replaced with some Egyptian fabric. The couches are not comfortable needs to be upgraded also. The cleaning stuff was rude didn’t greet upon meeting us by the door only to find that their cleaning is below standard. Dust everywhere lightbulbs needs to be dusted off and dish cloths needs to be washed properly or replaced

  The place has top security, access is only allowed with a code, no noise, has a clean swimming pool and cleaned every day.

  Great location and well appointed. Norma and team were great. Due to a change in my dates we had to change rooms on second night but this well handled with minimal inconvenience.
  Team went out of their way to make our stay comfortable despite previous guest checking out late, leaving the place a mess and causing damage (shame on them). Thanks
