I stayed here during a business trip last year, and honestly, the rooms have this lived-in comfort that’s hard to fake. The Wi-Fi actually works consistently, which – let’s be real – isn’t always a given even at fancier places. What I really appreciated was how the staff knew the area inside and out. When I mentioned needing to get to Sandton early one morning, the front desk guy didn’t just say “take the highway” – he warned me about the specific on-ramp that gets backed up and suggested an alternate route through Bryanston that saved me probably twenty minutes.

The breakfast setup is one of those continental spreads where everything’s fresh enough that you know they’re not just reheating yesterday’s leftovers. Nothing fancy, but the coffee’s strong and there’s usually some local touches – I remember they had these amazing rusks that the owner’s mother apparently makes. Parking‘s easy, which might sound boring but trust me, after driving around some of Joburg’s trickier neighborhoods, pulling into a secure spot without drama is pure relief. You’ll probably end up chatting with other travelers over breakfast, which is either great or mildly annoying depending on your mood. The 7.8 rating makes sense to me – it’s not trying to be the Four Seasons, but for what it is, they’ve really nailed the basics plus a few thoughtful extras that show they care about getting repeat visitors.
