The kitchen area is pretty functional too, which matters if you’re staying more than a couple nights or just want to grab some groceries from the Pick n Pay down the road instead of eating out every meal.

Here’s the thing about this location that locals know but tourists often miss – you’re actually in a sweet spot for getting around the city without being right in the thick of things. The apartment complex itself feels secure, which is crucial in Johannesburg, and parking wasn’t the nightmare I was bracing for. During my stay, the other residents seemed like a mix of business travelers and people in town for longer stretches, so there’s this sort of temporary community vibe rather than the sterile hotel feeling. The 7.4 rating makes sense to me – it’s not going to blow your mind with luxury touches, but everything works the way it should. The shower actually has decent pressure (you’d be surprised how often that’s not the case), and the Wi-Fi didn’t cut out every five minutes like some places I’ve stayed. What I really appreciated was how the management doesn’t hover but they’re responsive when you need something. Check-in was straightforward, no drama with keys or codes that don’t work. If you’re looking for that classic Johannesburg experience without paying through the nose, and you want your own space rather than a cramped hotel room, this place delivers on what it promises without trying to be something it’s not.

  Host was amazing. Made sure I had water when there was an outage. Apartment was clean and neat and in a good area with access controlled gate and 24 hour security.
  
  What could be improved: Property is advertised with a washing machine and stove/oven that it didn't have. Bed is a bit wonky.
