I’ll be honest – when I first heard about Stunning apartment in Sandton Central, I thought the name was a bit over the top. But you know what? After staying there, I actually get it. This four-star place on Fredman Drive really does live up to its bold name, and that’s coming from someone who’s pretty skeptical about apartment hotels.

The location is what sold me initially. You’re literally in the heart of Sandton’s business district, which means you can walk to Nelson Mandela Square in about three minutes (I timed it because I’m weird like that). What I didn’t expect was how quiet it would be inside – I mean, you’re surrounded by all this urban energy, but the apartment itself feels like this calm retreat above it all. The windows are these huge floor-to-ceiling things that make Johannesburg look absolutely spectacular, especially at sunset when the city lights start twinkling. I spent way too much time just staring out at the skyline with my morning coffee.

The apartment itself feels more like staying at a friend’s really nice place than a typical hotel. Everything’s modern without being cold – comfortable couch, proper kitchen with appliances that actually work (you’d be surprised how rare that is), and a bedroom that’s spacious enough you’re not tripping over your suitcase. The bathroom has one of those rainfall showers that honestly made me reconsider my own shower situation at home. What really impressed me though was the attention to detail – there’s fast wifi that doesn’t cut out during video calls, blackout curtains that actually block light, and the air conditioning works quietly. These might sound like small things, but when you’re dealing with South African summer heat or trying to sleep off jet lag, they matter enormously. The building has solid security too, which gave me peace of mind when I was out exploring the city late. I mean, you’re in Sandton Central, so it’s already one of the safer areas, but the extra layer of building security is reassuring. Parking was straightforward – none of that circling around looking for a spot nonsense you get in some parts of the city. The whole check-in process was smooth, and the staff actually seemed to care about making sure I had everything I needed rather than just going through the motions.

  They did supply an alterative water source in the form of bottled water though.
