The kitchenette is properly equipped (not just a mini-fridge and a prayer), and the bed is positioned so you get those sunset views without having to crane your neck. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays, even though you’re literally walking distance from the Gautrain station and all those galleries along Keyes Avenue. The building has solid soundproofing, which honestly saved my sanity during my week there – Johannesburg can get pretty lively at night.

Here’s the thing about staying in Rosebank though – you’re perfectly positioned to explore without needing to deal with the stress of driving through the city center. I could walk to the Sunday market at the Rosebank Mall (which, by the way, is actually worth your time), grab coffee at those little spots along Cradock Avenue, and still feel safe heading back in the evenings. The check-in process was smooth, parking is secure underground – which is huge in this city – and the staff clearly knows the area well enough to give you real recommendations, not just tourist trap suggestions. I stayed there during winter, so I can’t speak to how hot it gets in summer with all those windows, but the heating worked perfectly and the place never felt stuffy. With a 9.2 rating, it’s pretty clear I’m not the only one who thinks this little studio punches above its weight.
