The whole setup is honestly pretty clever – they’ve managed to create this four-star experience while keeping things genuinely sustainable, not just slapping solar panels on the roof and calling it a day. The accommodations blend into the natural landscape in a way that doesn’t feel forced, and I mean, you can actually hear the birds in the morning instead of traffic noise, which is saying something when you’re still technically in the greater Joburg area. What I really appreciated was how they handle the eco aspect without making you feel guilty about every towel you use – there’s hot water when you need it, decent WiFi (crucial for me), and the kind of comfortable beds that make you forget you’re being environmentally conscious.

The staff genuinely knows their stuff about the local area, too. They pointed me toward some hiking trails I never would have found on my own, and honestly, the breakfast setup uses ingredients from their own garden plus local suppliers in a way that feels authentic rather than performative. I’ll be straight with you – it’s not going to work if you’re looking for room service until midnight or a lobby bar scene, but if you want to actually decompress and maybe spot some wildlife without roughing it completely, this hits the sweet spot. The whole Thaba Eco Village concept means you’re surrounded by similar properties, so there’s this nice sense of community without feeling crowded. Just heads up though – you’ll definitely want a car since it’s not exactly walking distance to anything urban, but that’s kind of the point, isn’t it?

  Communication with the owner or landlord was good. The Wi-Fi was fantastic. The place is tranquil. And safe. The bedding was clean, and there was plenty of cleaning stuff
  
  What could be improved: The owner should fumigate the cochroaches. I thank her for the insect spray. However, i did not expect the place is clean when you step in but at night, the cockroaches mess up the ambiance.
