Thatishi’s Sandton CBD Apartment Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first heard about Thatishi’s Sandton CBD Apartment, I wasn’t sure what to expect from a residential-style place right in the heart of Johannesburg’s business district. But you know what? Sometimes the best finds are the ones that surprise you, and this four-star spot on Katherine Street absolutely delivered.
The thing about staying here is that you’re literally in the thick of Sandton’s energy – I mean, you can walk to Nelson Mandela Square in about three minutes, and Sandton City shopping center is right there when you need anything. But here’s what I really appreciated: despite being surrounded by all those gleaming office towers and the constant hum of the financial district, the apartment itself feels like a proper retreat. The setup is way more spacious than your typical hotel room, which honestly makes such a difference when you’re traveling for business or just want to spread out after a long day of exploring. I actually found myself cooking breakfast a few mornings instead of hunting for cafés, something I rarely bother with when I’m traveling.
What struck me most was how thoughtfully everything’s arranged – it’s clear that someone who actually understands what travelers need has put care into this place. The kitchen has real dishes (not those flimsy hotel cups), there’s decent internet that doesn’t cut out during video calls, and the bathroom has proper water pressure, which you’d be surprised how often that’s an issue in apartment rentals. The neighborhood gets pretty quiet in the evenings once the office crowd heads home, so I slept better than I expected for being right in the CBD. Parking was straightforward too, which if you’ve ever tried to navigate Sandton during rush hour, you’ll know is no small thing. I’d definitely come back here – it’s got that sweet spot of being professional enough for work trips but comfortable enough that it doesn’t feel sterile. Plus, being walking distance from the Gautrain station means you can actually get around Johannesburg without dealing with traffic, and that alone is worth its weight in gold.
Johannesburg tourism provides visitors with unforgettable experiences in Africa’s largest urban area, known for its dynamic street art, world-class restaurants, and legendary Soweto township tours.

Reviews of Thatishi’s Sandton CBD Apartment
Wonderful – Masupha from Lesotho – September 22, 2025 (9/10)
I had a wonderful stay in this apartment. From the moment I arrived, the host was warm, welcoming, attentive and hands on to ensure that I feel at home. The rooms were spotless, well furnished and very comfortable, with all the amenities I needed.
The location is excellent, within walking distance to Sandton city and adjacent to the property is woolies convenient store, McDonald's, Nando's etc. I especially appreciated the seemingly secure environment and reliable wifi, amongst other things
Overall, it was an excellent experience that exceeded my expectations. I would gladly return and highly recommend Thatishi to anyone looking for comfort, convenience and great hospitality.
What could be improved: At least one bedside pedestal would have been greatGood, what you see is what you get. – Anonymous from Zambia – September 14, 2025 (10/10)
The apartment was such a serene space. Nicely sized and calm . The property very accessible actually and central to everything in Sandton.
What could be improved: I generally think though apartments are mostly self service, some basic toiletries should be available to help you settle. There was no tissue and soap, at least a small bar and1 roll for the clients to settle in. There was however dish washer and hand soap.Pleasant – True from Botswana – August 16, 2025 (6/10)
The location is very good. It's next to garage, nando's, and mac Donald.
Apartment clean.
What could be improved: False advertising – Apartment not 2 bedroom apartment as advertised on booking.com. I was really miss lead and disappointed.
It really inconvenienced me.
No guest coffee for guest. No cooking pots.A clean, peaceful, and conveniently located stay that felt like a home away from home. – Precious from South Africa – August 13, 2025 (10/10)
I really enjoyed my stay. The place is exceptionally neat, and the fresh scent adds to the welcoming atmosphere. I love that you have your own private space without any disturbances, enjoying movies on Netflix. The location is perfect, with food outlets and a filling station (with a Woolies) conveniently right next door.
What could be improved: My only suggestion would be to add a set of pots to the apartment, as it is self-catering and this would make cooking even easier.
