Located on Hood Avenue in Johannesburg, this four-star property sits in one of those neighborhoods that’s quietly becoming more interesting – you’re close enough to the action but far enough out that you’re not dealing with constant traffic noise.

The apartments themselves are honestly pretty spacious, which is saying something for Joburg accommodation. I mean, you get proper kitchenettes with decent counter space, not those tiny hotel room setups where you can barely fit a coffee mug. The living areas have this modern-but-not-trying-too-hard vibe, with furniture that looks like actual people chose it rather than some corporate purchasing department. What I really appreciated was the attention to lighting – there are enough lamps and fixtures that you don’t feel like you’re living in a cave, which happens more often than you’d think in apartment-style places. The bathrooms are well-appointed too, with good water pressure (always a gamble in this part of the city) and toiletries that don’t smell like industrial soap.

The location works really well if you’re doing business in the northern suburbs or if you want to explore some of the newer restaurant scenes without being stuck in the CBD chaos. There’s decent parking – actually secure parking, not just a spot on the street where you’re crossing your fingers your car’s still there in the morning. The staff seems to know what they’re doing too; check-in was straightforward, and when I had a question about getting around the area, the front desk person gave me actual useful directions rather than just pointing vaguely down the street. Honestly, for the price point and what you get, it’s a solid choice. The 7.8 rating makes sense – it’s not going to blow your mind, but it delivers on what it promises without any major disappointments. If you’re the type who wants apartment-style space with hotel-level service and you don’t need to be right in the thick of things, this place gets the job done well.

  What could be improved: The shower was very small. Only room for one person at a time can't shower with your partner.

  What could be improved: It is a bit noisy since it's on a busy road, there was also a startling noise from above us not sure if it was an elevator or what. No cleaners on site
