What I really appreciated was how easy it was to grab an Uber to Sandton City or even pop over to the Sunday market at Rosebank Mall without the usual Joburg traffic nightmare. The hotel sits on this relatively quiet stretch, so you get the convenience without all the chaos of the main drags.

Inside, there’s this understated elegance that doesn’t try too hard – you know what I mean? The lobby has this warm, almost residential feel, like you’re staying at a particularly well-appointed friend’s place rather than some sterile business hotel. The staff actually remember your name after the first day, which honestly caught me off guard. My room faced the courtyard area, and I loved how quiet it was at night – no honking taxis or security sirens that usually soundtrack a Johannesburg evening. The beds are properly comfortable (I’m talking sink-in-and-disappear comfortable), and they’ve got this great rainfall shower that actually has decent water pressure. Small thing, maybe, but after a long day of meetings or exploring, it matters. The WiFi works consistently too, which – let’s be real – isn’t always a given even at decent hotels here. What really won me over was their restaurant‘s take on local cuisine; they do this incredible bobotie that’s somehow both traditional and refined, and their wine selection leans heavily on some fantastic Western Cape bottles you might not find elsewhere. The only minor gripe? The air conditioning can be a bit temperamental, but honestly, with Johannesburg’s climate, it’s rarely a dealbreaker. If you’re looking for somewhere that feels genuinely South African without the tourist trap vibe, and you want to be positioned perfectly for both business and exploring the city’s better neighborhoods, this place hits that sweet spot beautifully.

  What could be improved: Everything about the property is good. But be very careful when you are outside the gates picking up your uber eats or meeting a friend. There are lots of thugs they show up in cars and snatch your phone and jump in their car and takeoff. It was a scary situation l saw it happening to one of guest.

  Very clean and safe.
  Also close to Red Bus office.

  The apartment is functional with good wifi, a nice kitchenette, and a rudimentary bathroom with a stunning shower. There is a fan (rather than aircon) that I had on all the time I was in the room, and one can safely open the windows and patio door for fresh air.
  The bed was large, clean, and comfortable.
  The owners were very accommodating in meeting me for checkin and very early (5am) checkout.
  
  What could be improved: There was a single body wash/soap container across basin and shower – and nowhere except the floor of the shower to place it. This was luckily outweighed by the spaciousness and pressure of the shower.
