Here’s what I love about the location — you’re actually in one of Johannesburg’s more sophisticated pockets without the pretension. Illovo sits between Rosebank and Sandton proper, so you’ve got easy access to both areas without being stuck in either tourist trap. The Gautrain station is close enough for airport runs, and if you’re driving, the free private parking is a godsend (trust me, parking in this part of Joburg can be a nightmare). Recent guests have been rating the location a perfect 10, and I get it — you can walk to decent restaurants, there’s a Woolworths nearby for essentials, and the whole area feels safe during the day.

  What could be improved: 1 bath drying towel for 2 nights stay is diabolical
  No toilet door next to the kitchen is unhygienic
  The cental aircon is ineffective when its very cold add an extra blanket, heater or throw!
  DSTV app functionality is the pits only plays 30 seconds and has problem because of slow internet connection
  Room was not cleaned even though sign was outside
  And its not a One bedroom apartment its a studio/bed&Breakfast at best

  I liked the location and the VIEW….. oh my God… everything was working well at the apartment. I loved that they’re very security conscious. I’m going to choose the place anytime I come around.
