You know what caught me off guard about The Hub Apartments? Walking into this place on Muswell Road, I honestly wasn’t expecting much from the exterior – it’s got that typical modern apartment block vibe that could be anywhere. But step inside and you realize why this four-star spot consistently pulls in good reviews.
The thing about Bryanston is that it’s one of those Johannesburg neighborhoods where you can actually walk around without constantly looking over your shoulder, and The Hub really takes advantage of that. I mean, you’re genuinely close to some decent spots – Nicolway Shopping Centre is literally a five-minute walk if you need groceries or want to grab coffee at Vida e Caffè, and honestly, having that kind of convenience when you’re staying somewhere for more than a night or two makes all the difference. The apartments themselves feel more like actual living spaces than hotel rooms, which I appreciated. Full kitchens, proper sitting areas, and – this might sound small but it matters – enough power outlets in sensible places. You’ll find the Wi-Fi actually works throughout the space, not just in one corner of the room.
What I really liked was how quiet it gets at night, even though you’re not in the middle of nowhere. The soundproofing is surprisingly good, and the neighborhood itself just settles down after dark in a way that lets you actually sleep. Parking was straightforward too – secure basement parking that doesn’t involve some complicated dance with security guards every time you come and go. The staff at reception were helpful without being overly chatty, which honestly struck the right balance for me. They knew the area well enough to give decent restaurant recommendations (try asking about the Portuguese place nearby – they’ll know what you mean). I’d say the only minor thing that bugged me was the elevator can be a bit slow during busy periods, but that’s hardly a deal-breaker. If you’re looking for somewhere in this part of Joburg that feels more like a temporary home than a generic hotel room, and you want to be close enough to Sandton’s business district without being right in the thick of it, The Hub actually delivers on that promise. It’s the kind of place where you can spread out your stuff, cook a proper meal if you want to, and not feel like you’re living out of a suitcase.

The apartment is very beautiful and cozy and all the comfort facility are available. In general very clean and quite budling with parking space and guards.

A very neat and comfortable apartment with two nice bedrooms and a well equipped kitchen. The location is great for our purposes in and around Morningside, Sandton areas. Easy to get to. Feels safe and secure.
