I mean, when you’re staying somewhere for more than a couple nights, being able to make your own coffee in the morning or grab a proper snack from your own fridge makes such a difference. The Wi-Fi actually works throughout the building (tested it in the elevator, because I’m that person), and honestly, the generator situation they mention in the name isn’t just marketing – with Johannesburg’s power issues, knowing you won’t be sitting in the dark during load shedding is worth its weight in gold. The bedrooms are spacious enough that you don’t feel like you’re living out of a suitcase, and the bathrooms have those rainfall showers that actually have decent pressure.

Park Central as a neighborhood has really grown on me over the years – it’s got that up-and-coming energy without feeling completely gentrified yet. You’re close enough to Rosebank that you can walk to the Gautrain station if you’re heading to the airport, but far enough from the main drag that evenings are actually quiet. There’s a decent coffee shop about two blocks down that the locals seem to favor, and I noticed quite a few residents from the building grabbing their morning fix there. The security situation is what you’d expect for this part of town – the building itself feels safe with proper access control, though I wouldn’t go wandering around solo after dark (but that’s just Johannesburg common sense). Parking is included and covered, which saved me from worrying about my rental car. The 8.6 rating makes sense once you’ve stayed here – it’s not trying to be a luxury hotel, but it delivers on being a really solid, comfortable base for exploring the city or handling business in the area.

  What could be improved: Checking in process is a bit complicated with requirements of IDs. It would b better to highlight this when one books so that one prepares accordingly. If people r not driving, they don’t tend to carry their IDs with them.

  What could be improved: No staff to assist with carrying bags no loading trolley for our luggages and parking 3 doesnt have entrance to the facility you have to go to 2nd floor to go tje tge lift it is a bit of inconvenience and must be fixed
