I mean, Johannesburg can be pretty intense, but this spot has this unexpectedly calm vibe that I wasn’t expecting from a three-star place.

The thing is, this isn’t one of those flashy Sandton properties trying to compete with the big business hotels. It’s more like someone converted a really nice house and actually thought about what travelers need. The rooms have this lived-in comfort – nothing fancy, but honestly, the beds are better than some four-star places I’ve stayed at. And the staff? They remember your name after like, one day. There’s this genuine warmth that you don’t always get at bigger chains. The breakfast setup is pretty decent too, though don’t expect anything elaborate – it’s more of a “fuel up for the day” kind of thing, which worked perfectly for me since I was usually rushing off to meetings in Rosebank or the CBD.

What I really appreciated was how walkable the area is during the day. You’ve got proper cafes within a few blocks, and it’s close enough to Nelson Mandela Square that you can actually walk there if you don’t mind a fifteen-minute stroll (though I’d stick to daylight hours, obviously). The parking situation is straightforward – no circling around looking for a spot, which anyone who’s dealt with Sandton traffic will appreciate. Sure, the decor could use some updating, and the WiFi gets a bit sluggish in the evenings when everyone’s online, but these feel like minor complaints when you consider you’re getting solid value in one of the city’s pricier areas. It’s the kind of place where you can actually relax after a long day, and sometimes that matters more than marble bathrooms and fancy lobby art.

  What could be improved: There were no towels at all, not even a single one. No iron provided, had to go down in the morning to ask for the iron. The house is a 2 bedroom asked for towels and was given only 1 big towel.

  The facilities are beautiful. Great location and it is very spacious.
  
  What could be improved: If you are someone who enjoys Netflix or YouTube the tv’s do not have media boxes and there are no smart tvs. For such a beautiful places it is quite outdated. I expected that they would have an inverter or generator but because of loadshedding you will always be in the dark and thus it is difficult to enjoy your stay.
