I mean, when you’re dealing with a city this sprawling, finding somewhere that actually has personality – and isn’t just another generic business hotel – is honestly refreshing.

The location is pretty clever, actually. You’re in Rosebank, which locals will tell you is one of the safer, more walkable neighborhoods, and you can genuinely stroll to the Gautrain station without that constant over-the-shoulder feeling you get in some parts of Joburg. The street itself is quiet enough that you’re not dealing with traffic noise all night, but you’re still close enough to the good restaurants and that buzzy weekend vibe around the Rosebank Mall area. Parking was straightforward too – I know that sounds boring, but anyone who’s tried to navigate downtown Johannesburg will appreciate not having to stress about your car.

What I really liked was how the place feels more like a boutique property than your typical chain hotel. The rooms have this clean, modern thing going on without being sterile, and honestly, the beds are comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d been wrestling with the pillows all night. The staff seemed to actually know the area well – when I asked about getting to Constitution Hill, the front desk guy gave me specific route advice rather than just handing over a tourist map. Small thing, but it matters. I will say the Wi-Fi was solid, which is crucial if you’re trying to sort out day trips or stay connected with work. The whole place runs pretty efficiently – check-in was quick, housekeeping was on point, and I never had that feeling of being forgotten about that you sometimes get at bigger properties. It’s not going to blow your mind with luxury touches, but for exploring Johannesburg as a base, it hits that sweet spot of being comfortable, well-located, and reasonably priced for what you get.

  What could be improved: 1. The key pad does not work. Had to leave the key on table. Security would not accept the key even though Security handed us the key when we booked in.
  2. No instruction for safe.
  3. There were no instructions as to whether the flat was cleaned daily.
  4. The shower and bathroom was not cleaned.
  5. The cooker hood light was not working.
  6. One of the ceiling lights in the entrance area is not working.
  7. Disappointed that proper instructions were not provided

  Apartment was clean and spacious, nice bedroom and bathroom.
  
  What could be improved: The pressure for the hot water in the showers was very low. Also the parking bays for the apartment is very far from the steps and lifts and the apartment itself.

  What could be improved: Main bedroom was VERY noisy in the early morning, at 5am taxis start honking their horns constantly, bad sleep quality…
  Also, I was at the apartment in the winter and it was extremely cold, there was no heater. The gas cylinder was there but not the heater…

  Location was good and the check in staff was very friendly.
  
  What could be improved: The gas heater was not working and it was a cold day in Johannesburg. They did not have additional blankets to help . We called , they said they would bring and no one showed up .

  The pots need to be replaced immediately. They are no longer suitable for cooking food to be consumed. They are rusty.

  The apartment was lovely and very homely. Love where it's situated. Absolutely loved that you could walk to all the stores and restaurants. The night scene is amazing.
  
  What could be improved: The apartment did have some mould in the bathroom on the ceiling I thought that was very unpleasant especially for an apartment like that. The wifi is horrible. We could hardly if never use it. The building should be equipped with Fibre. The beds are not good at all. The mattresses are very hard.
