The location on Picasso Close is actually pretty clever when you think about it. You’re literally five minutes from Sandton City and all the main business districts, but the street itself is peaceful enough that you can actually sleep with the windows open. I’ve stayed at those massive chain hotels right in the heart of Sandton, and honestly, the noise from Nelson Mandela Square can be brutal if you’re trying to get some rest before an early meeting. Here, the biggest disturbance you’ll get is maybe some birds in the morning – which, let’s face it, is way better than traffic horns at 2 AM. The staff seem to genuinely know their stuff too, not just the scripted responses you get at bigger places. They’ll actually tell you which restaurants are worth walking to (there’s this amazing Ethiopian place about ten minutes away that most tourists never find) and can arrange reliable transport without the usual runaround. Check-in is refreshingly quick, and they remember your name – small things, but they add up. The only minor thing I’d mention is that parking can get a bit tight during peak times, but they’ve always sorted it out without making it your problem.
