Walking into Waldorf 2 on the second floor of this Johannesburg building, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect from an apartment-style setup. But you know what? This four-star property surprised me in the best way. The entrance feels more like stepping into someone’s well-appointed home than a typical hotel, which actually works really well if you’re looking for something different from the usual chain experience. There’s something refreshingly unpretentious about the whole approach.

Being right in Sandton means you’re basically in the heart of Johannesburg’s business district — but that’s not necessarily a bad thing for travelers. I mean, sure, it’s not the most atmospheric neighborhood, but everything you need is within walking distance. The Sandton City Mall is practically next door, and if you need to get around the city, the Gautrain station makes it incredibly easy. What I really appreciated was how safe this area feels, especially compared to some other parts of Joburg where you’d be constantly looking over your shoulder.

Living Space That Actually Works

The room — well, it’s more like a proper living space — feels surprisingly spacious for what you’re paying. The kitchen setup is actually functional, not just some token mini-fridge situation, which is perfect if you want to grab groceries from the nearby Woolworths and save some money on meals. I found myself using it more than I expected, especially for morning coffee before heading out. The furnishing is modern without being sterile, and there’s enough storage space that you can actually unpack if you’re staying more than a night or two.

Here’s something that’ll save you both money and hassle — the free private parking on site. Trust me, if you’ve ever tried to find secure parking in Sandton, you’ll know this is worth its weight in gold. No circling blocks looking for a spot, no worrying about your car overnight. The internet connection is solid too, which matters if you’re trying to get work done or just want to stream something after a long day exploring the city. These might seem like small things, but they’re the kind of details that make a stay actually comfortable rather than just adequate.

  The apartment is beautiful, well taken cared of. Me ad my family loved it, we felt like we were at home, everything we needed was there.

  What could be improved: The cleaner lied about us , saying we were drunk just because she saw us carrying alcohol. The fact that when we got there , there were two bookings and we were told to take our things and leave .

  What could be improved: Apparantley the host was not aware of our booking, check out time was not as Stated on booking.com. The sheets in the main bedroom were dirty, balcony had washing hanged. 2nd toilet was blocked

  Everything about the place it looks soooo beautiful pictures aren't doing it any justice newly renovated beautiful furniture beds are extremely comfortable..owner communicates well,check in process is very easy and what stood out was the check out time.of 14h00 so convenient for Sunday reset before going back home… I wil definitely go back to this place
