B and B Sandton Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to B and B Sandton on Bridge Road, I wasn’t sure what to expect from this three-star place tucked away in Buccleugh. But you know what? Sometimes the unassuming spots surprise you the most. This little guesthouse has that homey vibe that’s actually pretty hard to find in the Johannesburg area, especially when you’re staying somewhere that won’t completely drain your wallet.
The location is actually brilliant if you know the area – Bridge Road might not sound glamorous, but you’re basically positioned perfectly between Sandton’s business district and the quieter residential parts of Buccleugh. I mean, you can walk to decent coffee shops and local spots without dealing with the chaos of the main Sandton hub, but when you need to get into the thick of things for meetings or dinner, it’s maybe a 10-minute drive tops. The owners clearly know their neighborhood too – they pointed me toward this little Portuguese bakery nearby that I never would have found otherwise. Parking was straightforward, which honestly is half the battle in this part of town.
What struck me most was how personal everything felt. The rooms aren’t going to win any design awards, but they’re clean and comfortable in that “staying at a friend’s well-kept house” kind of way. The breakfast – and trust me, I’m picky about breakfast – was actually really good. Fresh fruit, proper coffee, and they do this thing with their eggs that I’m still trying to figure out. The staff genuinely seemed to care whether I had what I needed, which you don’t always get even at fancier places. Sure, the WiFi could be stronger (what else is new?), and the shower pressure varies depending on time of day, but these are minor things when you’re getting solid value for money. I stayed during a busy conference week in Sandton, and while the big hotels were charging ridiculous rates, this place kept things reasonable without feeling like a compromise. If you’re looking for something authentic rather than cookie-cutter corporate, and you want to actually experience a bit of local Johannesburg life instead of being stuck in a glass tower somewhere, this is definitely worth considering.

The place was absolutely gorgeous, has a beautiful garden layout.
The room was clean and a had huge comfortable bed, also has a coffe/tea station which make's the room so homely. I was especially pleased by having the luxury of choosing between the bathtub or shower as the room had both. And also didn't experience any loadsheding, overall stay was just so amazing.Good – Kelello from South Africa – April 30, 2023 (7/10)
