Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard the name Sandton Skye Stylish Apartment free WIFI & Gym, I thought it sounded a bit like someone threw every keyword into a blender. But you know what? Sometimes the most awkwardly named places surprise you the most, and this four-star spot absolutely did.

The thing about staying on Stan Road is that you’re actually in the sweet spot of Sandton – close enough to the chaos of Nelson Mandela Square that you can walk there in about eight minutes (I timed it), but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the constant hum of traffic and construction that seems to follow Johannesburg’s business district around like a loyal dog. The apartment itself feels more like someone’s really well-put-together home than a typical hotel room, which I mean, makes sense given the setup. The WiFi actually works – and I’m talking proper working, not that frustrating “technically connected but nothing loads” situation you get at so many places. The gym isn’t huge, but it’s got the basics and honestly, after spending days walking around Johannesburg’s sprawling neighborhoods, a simple treadmill and some weights hit the spot perfectly.

What really got me though was how the staff seemed to genuinely care about the small stuff. When I mentioned I was having trouble figuring out the best route to the Apartheid Museum (it’s trickier than you’d think from this part of town), the front desk guy actually pulled out his phone and walked me through three different options depending on whether I wanted to take the Gautrain, grab an Uber, or – his personal recommendation – combine both for the most interesting journey. The apartment comes with this little kitchenette that’s actually functional, not just decorative, which saved me from eating overpriced room service every night. There’s something satisfying about making your morning coffee while looking out at Sandton’s skyline, watching the city wake up in layers – first the early commuters, then the business crowd, then the tourists trying to figure out where they’re supposed to be. The air conditioning works like a dream too, which you’ll appreciate if you’re visiting during Johannesburg’s intense summer months when the afternoon thunderstorms roll in like clockwork. Sure, the decor is a bit on the safe side – lots of neutral colors and generic art – but everything feels clean and thoughtfully arranged. It’s the kind of place where you can actually relax after a long day of exploring, whether you’ve been wandering through the Markets of Warwick Junction or trying to navigate the maze that is Sandton City shopping center.

  i liked the appartment decir. i liked the washing machine provided, and the soaps abdvtowels provided for bathroom use. I love having the Codfather restaurant right downstairs. I like having Benmore's 6 min walk down the street
  
  What could be improved: the cardio equipment in thr gym are cheap and never works. they re just there for decorations. hopefully they will replace with quality treadmills and elliptical machines.
