The living areas have this comfortable, lived-in quality without being worn down, if you know what I mean. Plus, the Wi-Fi actually works consistently throughout the building, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how many places get that wrong. The staff at reception were genuinely helpful too, not just going through the motions – they gave me solid recommendations for places to eat nearby and warned me about which streets to avoid after dark.

Location-wise, you’re perfectly positioned for exploring both the business districts and the more interesting cultural spots without feeling like you’re stuck in tourist central. Parking is secure and included, which removes that constant Joburg worry about your car. The neighborhood gets pretty quiet in the evenings, so light sleepers will appreciate that – though you’ll still hear the occasional taxi hooting, because well, it’s still Johannesburg. I stayed during what locals call the “shoulder season” in April, and the rates were reasonable for what you get. The apartments face different directions, so if you’re sensitive to morning sun, mention that when you book. Overall, it’s the kind of place where you quickly settle into a routine, whether you’re here for business or taking your time exploring the city – and honestly, that’s exactly what you want from an extended-stay spot.

  What could be improved: Clean bed sheet could have been better, I understand that, for short term stay you dont do cleaning everyday, at least you can provide more than one set of bedsheet that customer can change.

  The apartment was clean and beautiful, had everything we needed. The staff was very friendly. It was also quiet, exactly what we needed.
  
  What could be improved: Our toilet was broken. It was working properly, flushing and everything but the toilet was loose so it would make a very loud noise when you sit on it. The checking out process was also bad. We had to call the property to let them know that we’re checking out and they were not answering so we had to return to the room and leave the key there. Wasted our time when we made sure to check out on time.

  What could be improved: WORST COMMUNICATION OF ALL TIME! From the second I made the booking, nobody knew where the money was between propr and booking.com. At some point I thought I was scammed. The Wi-Fi died and I had to make means to be the one to constantly check with our host on the progress where at some point she stopped answering my calls.

  What could be improved: A lot of loud banging type noises in the building affecting this apartment on a regular intervals. Could be the piping or something, but seemed to do with the structure.
  Also, the WiFi wasn’t working for first 7 hours. Eventually a totally different WiFi network, with a password that wasn’t even available anywhere in the apartment was communicated to me via email. It was ridiculous.
  The main blind in the lounge was clearly broken. Not highlighted to me on check in. So, it literally had to stay down the entire time, including all day.
